I've been invited to a wedding shower for a co-worker. My husband can be a bit jealous at times and does not want me to go to the party at all. He has agreed to let me attend the shower, but asked that I not go out to any bars with the ladies after the shower. He has also asked that I not drink at this shower which is not a problem because I don't care to drink. There will be drinking there and after the shower is a bachelorette party at a local bar. I know that I will get pressure from the women at the shower to go with them to the bar. How can I leave after the shower without offending the bride to be and without making my husband seem like a controlling jerk?

Yes, I know there is a problem with my husband not trusting me, but I need to respect his wishes since he has allowed me the time to go to at least the shower.

I am going to an event that is black tie and want to make sure that I look as good as the other women at the event. What kind of dress, shoes should I wear? I know this is really formal so is it more classy to wear closed toed shoes. I am guessing that bare legs are inappropriate.

Does anyone know where I could find a cute dress for under $200 that would meet my needs?

They stand by the door outside a club or hotel and think the world owes them something. Surely crap tattoos and a bad beard isn't justification for this! Make me feel better!

I have a relative who it unmarried and pregnant. I have always heard that it is in poor taste to have a baby shower in this situation. What does etiquette dictate?

I stopped by my Uncle's/Older sister's house this week to drop off something. She lives with her dad and my niece (her daughter), who is 11. I came in the side door to the kitchen. I heard rocking and creaking coming from upstairs. As I put the item I was dropping off on the kitchen table, I heard a loud moan. Knowing my sister and my uncle were not home so I ran upstairs. I quickly opened the door and found her boyfriend, 16, sitting at the edge of the bed with his shirt off and the covers over him. I am guessing he was either naked or in his underwear. He had an X-box controller in his hand but the xbox looked like it just was turned on. Just then, I heard the shower turn on. My niece has her own bathroom connected to her room. I knocked on the door and she said, "I'm in the shower, go away". I looked on the ground and saw a condom that had been used. I'm not stupid. But I do not want to start world war 3 in my uncle's house. What the heck is my next course of action?

I went to an Indian Music Concert last night by myself. It was close to where I work and I like the music so I decided to go.

I called my cousin before the concert started. She is married to an Armenian gentlemen and 1 year older than me.

She sometimes goes to Indian shows/concerts alone. I asked her how it was going alone.

She said "Nobody cares." It sounded very callous to me. Is this an appropriate this to say?

I would have said, "No, don't worry about it. Just enjoy the show."

I am also taking some classes in the evenings like fitness, jazz dance, and tennis. I did not mention it to my cousin.

I told the same things to my Aunt and she was happy and said that's good. She was glad that I would be busy and enjoy the show.

I keep my problems with my ex-husband to myself now and don't talk to my cousin. Some people are just too bitter to talk to. She asked if my ex-husband had called and I said "No" even though he had. I did not want to get into it

Think of this as if you were in my situation... and don't be derogatory towards me because I have not been to you. I was at a store I almost never go to trying to find some nice clothes for a big dinner I ha to goto later on that evening. As I'm walking into he womens dressing room to try on the clothes I walk past two women talking in (by the "put away clothes" rack) when someone taps me on the shoulder saying "excuse me ma'am, you can only have 5 items. Purturbed at the way she said it and the fact she touched me (I have no idea where he hands have been) I put one of the articles of clothing on the rack next to me and then start to walk, she says from behind me "well can i count them (she has a very demeaning tone) and I say no because I have five and begin to walk, I hear her say something under her breathe and I say very loudly "well if you weren't such a b**** i would have been nicer, walk into the dressing room and say loudly again bc of how mad i now am "it's not like im going

I am leaving my job and moving on to another one. I've worked at this place for two and a half years, and have a very good rapport with all my co-workers and managers. I want to give them all a small gift (possibly the same thing), as a token of appreciation. All suggestions are welcome.

I need to quit my job--- suddenly. What are some excuses I could tell him? I am a young male in my early 20's... but I don't want my boss to hate me or be upset. I thought of a broken leg... but that would require quite a lot of acting and he is the kind of boss who likes to ask questions...

Thanks!!

How much should I give tip?
When should I give tip MORE?
When should I give tip LESS?
When should I definitey give tip?
When should I NOT give any tip?

How should I give tip without showing improper manner?
Is there any difference of tipping in different places (hotels, restaurants, caffees, pubs, bars, etc)?

Before giving any tips, could I ask them earlier for some exchange?
If I give them too much tips, could I ask them to return me some?

I have a neighbor, which the mom is always getting drunk and cursing at her husband. Our doors and walls are very thin and I would say about 4-5 times a week, she's out there cursing and yelling while being drunk. I have a 15 month old who's is subject to this kind of behavior and I'm not sure how to deal with it. One time another neighbor had to call the cops because she was up at 3am yelling, "I'll kill you bit**, I'll kill you!" Any serious answers greatly appreciated.

If you have seen questions of mine from a few mos. ago, I am deeply annoyed by this. Please tell me I'm not the only one who wants to tell them to stop. Especially when their at my house and all I hear is "Smack, Smack, Smack". Gross by any meaning of the word.

Okay...I have been raised "old south." I grew up on the idea of women are ladies and men are gentlemen. I have been around that environment all my life. Now, don't think for one moment that I was sheltered as a child. Hardly! I have also been around the disgusting people who spit in public, pick their teeth at the table, and burp in public and do not say "excuse me." I can get over all that but I am very ticked off at the way men treat women this day in time.

I was at a party a few weeks ago and my girl-friends and I were standing around all night in high heeled shoes. We walked over to some guys we knew who were sitting in chairs to talk for a bit. I was very tempted to tell them all to get out of the chairs and let us sit down but I didn't want to start anything.

Where are all the gentlemen? Give me a reply if you guys are out there.

I know it sounds stupid cuz its MY wedding but I dont want there to be tension. I used to work with this doctor from December 2005 to Juned 2006 and him and I did not get along. He is very arrogant but plays a very good part in front of others. In June of 2006 I was transferred to a different location to help out with the staff there but now I have been transferred back to my old location to run the show. I want to invite my coworkers cuz they are good people and I really like them. I just dont' want to invite the doctor. I just feel that he isn't the caliber of person I want around. Any suggestions?
