Damn right! We put the seat down for them.. THEY should put it up for us! Well said,. afterall, they wanted equality, they can have it! Ha!

In Feng Shui they suggest you keep both down as the toilet is a drain on finances and it keeps the energy from escaping down the toilet if you close the lid. Just thought I'd give you a middle of the road idea!
On the other hand, have you ever been in a hurry to go when you got into the rest room and didn't check to see if the seat was down? It can be a very cold, wet experience if it's not!! Believe me it only happens once!!!!

I think the toilet seat and the lid should be down unless its being used. If you drop something in the bathroom,it always seems to end up in the toilet unless the lid is down. I've made it a house policy to keep the toilet that way. My husband agrees with me and kept it like that from before we even met.

Why can't either party be responsible for their own bodily functions and the equipment used for it? I have 3 johns in my house and when school is out, only 3 of us there. They both seem to use MY John. The one that just has a toilet in it. The ladies have full-fledged johns but use mine. I don't pamper them.
Maybe it's because mine is strategically located right by the garage which is my kingdom but also happens to be close when they pull into the garage to go in.
Life just ain't fair!

Good point. I think it has something to do with how the bottom of the toilet seat is dirtier than the top and how girls don't want to touch dirty things before using the restroom.

Hygienically speaking, women do not splatter pee on the seat, and therefore should not have to deal with the ups and downs of the lid. We do that when we are cleaning the dang thing, because I know of very few men who handle that task.

Because if EITHER sex has a bathroom emergency (not of the peeing kind), it's more convenient to have the seat down and ready. First time you soil yourself, you'll understand.

you have to put it down because that is your duty as a man!
i like the idea of always keeping the seat and lid down, beacause if it isnt, something( usually my makeup!) ends up falling in it!
