This was done because of wind up watches. Most people were right handed so the watch was worn on the left wrist for winding and setting the time. The majority have continued to wear them on our left wrist. I do it, and I am left handed. lol

We don't. Most people wear it on the left hand because the majority of people are right handed and it's easier to write without a watch on that hand. Lefties sometimes wear their watch on the right hand.

We generally put the watch on the hand opposite of the writing hand so it doesn't scrape against the desk and papers while writing.

The majority of people during the manufacturing era were right handed,and they wanted to make sure it did not get stuck in the machines. So now it has become the norm....

if you are righthanded you put the watch on the left hand...if you are lefthanded you put it on the right hand...theoretically the watch will be safer and it wont bother you when writing or in other activities

thats only if you are right handed. that way it doesn't get in the way when you right or something. if your left handed it goes on your right hand.

You don't have to... I put mine on my right... I think people just naturally put it oposite of the hand they write with... It makes it more comfortable for people.

you wear it on the opposite hand that you write with i guess, but really you could wear it on whatever hand feels comfotable to you...
