I have kids who need daycare 2 days a week for three hours from 5AM-8-8:30AM. I met a woman who appeared to be very nice mother of three, with a contract defining expectations from both parties. When we initially sought her service we explained we have no family or friends in the area, and we need atleasta two week notice of resignation. Short she did not open the door, my husband missed work, she claimed her schedule was wrong. Husband wanted to pay for two weeks discontinue service, told her I would try to convince him to get over miscommunication. Would call and have definite answer. That evening she called and left a voice mail stating she would no longer be able to provide services. However she cashed my checks for services.I had only a one day notice to find other arrangements. Also many places require two weeks up front and a registration fee.We have the money, but it is principle. She cashed the checks stopping payment not option.I am writting a letter to her any other options?

I'm hand-writing a personal letter and it's a lot longer than what I'm used to writing (9 pages). Most of my personal letters are within 1-3 pages and I never staple the pages together, I just fold them and put them in the envelope. It seems a lot easier to me to staple 9 pages together, but is that considered bad ettiquette for writing a personal letter? It may seem like a stupid question, but it also seems to me that adding a simple staple makes it more formal, almost like a business letter, and takes away from the personality of the letter. Almost like typing a letter instead of hand writing it. Maybe I'm being too anal about this, but this question is really bothering me. I need a second opinion about this. Only serious answers please.

These biased comments have simply got to stop!!! I was totally offended and believe that referring to anyone using an adjective such as: the "bald guy" the "blue eyed girl" etc. should be placed in the category as racial/ethnic comments such as "the Mexican girl" "The homosexual" and "the Jew" Who cares if the comment is true. I feel that if someone uses a descriptive adjective to refer to a person, they should be classed as a racist/prejudiced/biased person. Ooops, those are all adjectives too aren't they? Well, anyway, as of now I want to be referred to as Cranial follically challenged. Oh darn!! challenged is an adjective too. Does anyone agree, and if so how can I solve this dilemma?

Hello! Alvin Hemlock here. I'm a researcher doing studies in the arctic and will soon be escorting fellow naturalists to the field. We'll bring along various very bad rap music to see its effects on wildlife here. Do you think the polar bears will attack or flee?

We were supposed to meet and hang out yesterday after our classes (we're both in college). We've only met online (she posted a personal ad), and she told me she "definetly" wanted to meet me. She gave me her # and said call when you get out. I did, got her voicemail, left a message.... nothing. I waited like 35-40 minutes til my bus came. I sent a text message saying "guess I missed you, blah blah blah..." And she hasn't called me or anything. I'm thinking that I should just let it go, and not try to contact her. Is that a good idea? What would you do?

My co-workers often bring in sweets and treats, some homemade. I am trying to eat healthier, but do not want to seem rude or like I am passing judgement. Is there a polite way to refuse the treats?

What is a nice way to say "Without the co-op for food and clothing, her family would be much worse off?" I have to write a paper for community service and I can't think of a way to write that without making it sound like this lady is already "worse off". I don't want to sound rude. Thanks!

I can understand why it would. But I really don't think it SHOULD. For one, the word "God" could apply to any gods. Not to mention that when people say "God damn", they are not asking a god to damn something. It's become a figure of speech more than anything.

I ask because I noticed that the radio censors the "god" in "god damn"(yay freedom of speech!). That personally annoys the crap out of me, and I don't really get why people are offended by it.

I am a smoker and smoke in a resturant if it's allow. But do respect the lungs of others around me. I don't smoke however in my home for my kids sake, nor do I around babies or pregnant women. What are your view? Do you think no smoking in public places is fair? Why? If not why?

My client and his family are visiting us from Japan next month. I'm planning to take them around and do all the touristy things. We really only have three days with them. So the schedule is tight.
When I travel abroad, I tend to go eat at places that offer a variety of foods from that culture. Why would I go to Italy and have a hamburger and fries ? I can get that here anytime.

So, I want to take my client and his family out for dinner at an upscale American cuisine restaurant. My wife thinks that we should go to a upscale Japanese restaurant.
My client is looking forward to the visit and has said he is open to anything we have planned for them. They are very well cultured and have traveled all over the world.
So, what do you think? Non Japanese or Japanese. It not the money, its the bragging rights.
