No, you should not be embarrassed. Actually, I should! I just told someone on here the other day that no one would be stupid enough to associate that idiot murderer with other Asian people. Mass murders have happened before, and the vast majority of them were committed by white dudes. Any one with even an ounce of common sense would know that this has nothing to do with Asian people in general. Apparently I underestimated the idiocy of a lot of people, and I apologize.
What you need to do is three things. One, stand proud. You are just the victim of an irrational act of violence that has nothing to do with you. Two, lean on your friends and family for support. What a bunch of idiots think doesn't matter. Concern yourself with what those who care about you think, and you'll be fine. Third, talk to your principal, teacher, or a school counselor about it. They should put a stop to this immediately. They are responsible for your safety and well-being. What these kids are doing is wrong, and it is not good for the school morale. If they do not help, your parents should contact the school and complain.
I wish you luck! It sucks to be mocked, especially for something that is completely not your fault. It is wrong, and I pity those foolish kids that are doing this. It must be very sad to be so inconsiderate and ignorant.

I think it is okay to be embarassed. However you have to develop a way that you can respond to the negative comments in order to educate you fellow students so they won't mock you simply because you are Korean.
Do not start to feel down about this because the V. Tech incident will only be in the news for another month and then the mocking should end.
Until then you must be strong and help inform others what happened at Vtech isn't something to joke about.

Don't be embarrassed. You can retort by bringing up the Oklahoma city bomber, or the Una-bomber or even the Columbine shooters, who all were white. People of all backgrounds commit terrible acts, and these acts "should" in no way represent their race as a whole. Unfortunately if you are young or old people can be cruel. Remember the reason why the student engaged in this behavior was because he was mocked, and couldn't deal with it like most people do. So don't let other people get to you. People fear what is different. Fear and insecurity is often the reason people tease others. Try to remember that.

no this isnt right and you shouldnt be embarrassed..im half korean myself and i know how this massacre has effected the korean community..korean people tend to take things to heart and take anything to do with a korean person very personally...i know alot of koreans feel shame and embarrased about this but it's no one's fault except cho seung hui and the system (mental health system ) that failed him and so many other murderers that we have to hear of in the past...its' wrong for these individuals to mock you and the best you can do is keep your head up and try to ignore it..you know you have done nothing wrong and you shouldnt feel as if you did..these people have no shame and think its funny to make jokes or ridiculous comments on this awful tragedy...watch in time these idiots that are giviing you a hard time will find some other issue to unfortunately bag on someone else about...it just shows there character..try to ignore it..good luck!

No you should not be mocked, and you most definitely should not feel embarrassed. You had no control over what Cho did. Maybe those kids need a bit of their own medicine. If they are Caucasian, politely remind them that most serial killers and mass murderers in the US have been white. (Bundy, Gacy, ect. . .) Keep your head up and don't feel bad. If the harassment gets too bad, take it to the principal, and have your parents go with you.

The people mocking you are guilty of the same hatred and violence that drove the killer in the first place. They are taking that violence out on you, just like the killer did with his victims.
Report the kids, or simply tell them that their hatred is far closer to matching the killer's profile than any racial ties you might share.
On second thought, report their asss. No one deserves to be mocked because of their ethnicity. No one.

You should not be embarassed you did not do it. It is bad people treat you like that but I can understand how you feel knowing that the person that done that was Asian let alone Koren. You just feel really bad when things like that happen I know a lot of African Americans felt that way when the sniper in VA was shooting people, I know I felt bad then.

It's not right for you to be mocked because of one persons hate. Be proud of your culture and not embarrassed that you are Korean. Be true to yourself and ignore negative things people say.
