My girlfriend and I have started staying at a bed and breakfast when we visit her family, and we're never quite sure whether to leave a tip in our room for the married couple who own and run the place by themselves.

I'm always cleaning up after him and I've asked him numerous times to clean up his messes with no success. But I'm not his mother and shouldn't have to clean up after him. Do I take it to the boss? Because if the boss says something to him he'll know that I said something. It's not only the mess that's bothering me but I don't know if the boss thinks if it's me too that's making the messes. How do I resolve this amicably? I still need to work with him.

It's been 5 days since I was supposed to know...I was going to send them an email tonight asking for a little more information about when the decision is going to be made, but I don't want to seem pushy. They only accept 8 students every other year, and I seem to be choice #9 and someone dropped out.

The suspense is killing me!

Hi all,
i have always wondered where do all small spoons, knives, hair bands and hair pins disappear? Every time i look in my kitchen drawer i find fewer spoons and knives..i do not remeber ever taking those out of my home,or throwing them away by mistake. The same thing is with my hair bands-i buy a new set every 3 weeks and days after half of them are misteriously gone!!
Has anyone else encountered the same 'phenomenum'?

I just moved into a 2 bedroom with someone who has been living there for a year. We both have dogs, and she is pretty laid-back, as am I. What are some helpful tips so that I can be a good roommate? (e.g. not slamming doors, cleaning dishes as soon as I use them, not having music on all the time...?)

I was at the mall yesterday with a friend and there was this guy (who was pretty hot) standing about 10 feet in front of us and I am pretty sure he was trying to show us his junk, he was wearing white workout pants and a t-shirt but we could clearly see his package through his pants. Do other girs like seeing this? It kind of turned me on.

Hi all, i work in customer service and i get the most sweetest customers at my store.
I guess you can say i'm lucky to work in a area where the nicest people shop.
I have fun with them telling jokes back in forth anything to show them i'm glad their there.
My question is i always hear customers say they wish the people who work in customer service were friendly and would smile, but when you are friendly and smile , their rude, and it's not because they're having a bad day because i see them laughing with their friends and family.
I brush it off because the 99% are soo sweet it makes up for it.
Now i'm not complaining i just want to understand better so the next time i see a customer like that i'll know or understand better to try and get a smile out of them.
I'll be going out of my way to say hope your days been well and they wont say a word like i didn't even exist even though i'm right in front of them.
Any tips would be appreciated.

I didn't know he worked there when i started. We broke up because of a stupid argument, we were both very proud and neither said 'I'm sorry'. I have missed him for years. He told me today that he is now married with three children. He loves his wife and children, but he said he also misses me and regrets that we are no longer together, and not a day goes by when he doesnt think of me. We work in the same building and will now see each other everyday. I don't know what to do. The old chemistry is there but he is married and I don't want to hurt his wife. I am in a long term relationship and don't want to hurt my partner. How do I stop anything from happening. As I feel the chemistry but don't want to be rude and not talk to him when I see him.

My husband and I were wondering this. We have a few family members who in an email will use no introduction, few short, simple sentances, no small talk and no sign off. Is is just the way some people use email? My husband and I both use email the same way we would right a letter.
Dear so and so
--------------------------------------how are you----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Things are good here--------------------------how are the kids, tell them we said hello.------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------signature

Are we in the wrong by expecting more in an email from these family members, are they being rude. If they are being rude should we ignore it?

I have been guilty of this from time to time, as have most other people. A coworker of mine collects several 100's, 50's, 20's, 10's, 5's, and ones. Once he builds up a large amount (few hundred individual notes), he will write very dirty words, phrases, every ethnic slur in the dictionary, religious slurs, sexual phrases, and pictures of male and female anatomy...including male and females doing sex acts. He also puts phone numbers of ex girlfriends on bills with a "want a good time, call this number" message.

He sends them into circulation (hands a cashier the bill with the writing on one side facing down so the cashier doesn't see it, and inserts 20's 10's and 5's into change machines to get quarters). I think this is amusing in a way. I've already gotten a few bills with his writing on them as change. I even got one of them in a town 50 miles away!

These bills will circulate all over town and then make their way around the country. He usually defaces hundreds of dollars a month.

How do you properly ask a person where they are from? I adore people from Ireland, { since I am 1/8th myself } and Scotland as well. I just don't want to be blunt.

Can I say," I love your accent." ???? And then take it from there. A little help here..

I want my residents to use the room, and enjoy it, but I worry that if they want tp through lets say a childs party, it can lead to more damage than it worth. I am trying to figure out the correct Deposit amount, and some basic rules to keep everyone happy.

My p;atest expeirence was allowing a resident to throw her duaghters 16th b-day. There was cake on the carpet, and thick syrupy chocolate on the carpet. Fortunatly, this was all, they did "try" to have a cake fight, but I was there and stopped it. I do not want, or would neer discriminate against children, however I need to protect "our" community room, or we wont have one to use!

Any suggestions??
