When our father died, my brother decided to wear some very tight revealing slacks to the funeral. He said he was expecting some hot women to show up(friends of his friends) so he decided to dress the part to get their attention. Do you think this was in bad taste?

I'm a senior in high school and am about to graduate in May. I'm moving out of mine and my mom's house. Since I was 15 (workers permit for that age) I have been working. A lot of the stuff in our house is mine, or given to me by someone else (from my dad's family mostly). For a while now, it's just been me and my mom....my parents divorced when I was 12, and when I was 14 my dad died from a drug overdose. So, we've always worked together...."her" car technically isn't hers, I make the payments every month.

So, what do I take and what do I leave? Some things are obvious, like she gets to keep the car, the furniture and so forth and I take my personal things...like the things in my room. But, what about things like the DVD player that we share equally? I don't mean to sound like "mine, mine, mine...I bought it so it's MINE!", because I'm not like that. uggghh, I don't know! Do you get what I'm trying to say?

Assume a 17 year old boy who is visiting is shooting at squirrels with a BB gun from the balcony of one of these apartments and is seen and reported.
Should he be charged with having a weapon in a school zone and put in jail?
What about the people who live there and have knives in their house?

Why do most people on here put so much effort into criticizing questions that THEY feel are stupid, but the serious questions go ignored?

Maybe they have too much salivia? I think it is nasty. You do not see women spitting so much. So is it different for them.

Then why do people tolerate employee-boss affairs?

Am I sensing a double-standard here?

If we go on trips where we observe how professionals work in real life, would it be appropriate to write a thank you card for the experience afterwards? If so, how should one go about writing it? Thanks.

I ask a lot of questions on advice with what to do with difficult problems and I cant believe some of the answers. I wonder if these answers are really what the people would do if they were me, or its all just lip service. I hope most have answered truthfully and I think they have, but I really dont know if they have really thought about just what they would really do in difficult situations. Its easy to give advice, but to actually live by that advice...well thats another story. But I anticipate that it is probably still good to ask questions here, as some answers will be helpful.

Does it mean they do not value your time with them?

I don't tend to make calls unless they're business-related but many others do. I keep them short. I know you can't control incoming calls. A lot of times I won't answer incoming, tho.

I've battled shyness my entire life and have been trying to overcome it as much as I can. When I'm with people I get shy around, sometimes I try to force myself to talk. Unfortunately, when I do this, I tend to either fumble over my words or stutter slightly when I start to talk. I get so self-conscious about it and was looking for some input for an outsider's perspective.

What goes through your mind if you're with someone like that and notice they're fumbling?

This teacher is the kind of person who really embellishes the double standards that adults put between kids and themselves. She wont wait in line at the lunch cafeteria like all the kids do and most of the other teachers as well. She physically grabs kids and tosses them around and gives out undo harsh punishments if any one stands up to her and she is always yelling. I hope I get some good answers, not like 'tell the principle or tell your parents' because thats all been done already. And she goes on like everything is fine. She laughs at our problems and acts so unsympathetic. Problem is, it seems only us kids care about this. A lot of teachers act this way and it really bothers me. So I dont do well in school. Maybe thats why they say 'SCHOOL SUCKS!'.

When a woman is very/overly confident and is happy with herself - her physique and personality...people say she is conceited and selfish..egotistical..etc

But when a woman is down with her looks and personality...people tell her she needs to be more confident and love yourself..etc

WHY the double standards? And YOU know who you are who does this..

I used to be shy and people told me to socialise more and be happy with myself,,,so now that I am...

I am now self absorbed?

What is with this perception...this society is always in conflict..

So people...do we be sad with ourself or happy?

I am the manager and buyer for a women's clothing boutique in a pretty upscale shopping mall. Almost two weeks ago I discovered that an employee who was always so great (or so it seemed) had stolen a pair of Rock Revival jeans that we sold for $185. I discovered it bc I saw pictures of her wearing the jeans and I didn't remember her ever buying them or wearing them to work. I spoke with the owner of the store, she talked to the employee and she finally confessed that she did steal the jeans. And who knows what other less expensive items she took while she was alone, that no one would notice! Anyway, she was obviously fired that day. Now I have just learned that she got a job working at a gift store in the same shopping mall as our store!! Obviously we were not put down as a reference! I feel like I should tell the manager of that store that she stole from us so she doesn't steal from them, but I don't know, I can't decide. What do you think I should do?
