It means that your friend is in big trouble. Their ex-friend is planning on beating them up when they see him.

He is probably an ambulance driver that can see the future. He probably looked into his crystal ball and saw that the next time he would be around you, something bad would happen to you like you are going to break your arm or something. Then he will drive you to the hospital.
Actually I guess maybe he doesn't have to be an ambulance driver, per se, just someone who can see the future and knows he/she can safely transport you to the hospital.

Put someone in hospital means to beat him up so he needs to be admitted to hospital to be treated for his injuries.
