I live in the basement and they live upstairs. We share the hydro, I pay 40%. The last bill was for $180 and that was for Aug and Sept. I'd dread seeing what it will be in the winter. They always leave several lights on when they go out. Is it reasonable to ask them to turn them off? What's the best way to approach it? Thanks

Just wondering, as I see Christmas is tommorow. At least the marketing geniuses would have you believe. Why not do this with every holiday?

She is always saying something rude or insulting, but with a smile and then laughing about it and touching your shoulder like she's joking. It's very passive agressive and annoying. She told me to be nice to a customer, in front of the customer, which made me look like I had "nice" issues. I was infuriated and she didn't speak to me the rest of the night becuase I told her that "I'm always nice", in front of the same customer(not always the truth, but I am to customers) She is always making some snide remark, then laughing like someone thinks she's funny. What can i do for my own safety & job security, to thwart her issues? I feel like I'm going to go off on her at some point soon! it's not personal, because she does this to everyone.

On Tuesday, I got a postcard from my favorite teacher, Ms. Cody. It said - Hi Melissa ~ I am so happy to have you in class again this year! You are the best student anyone could hope for. Your future is bright! -Miss Cody.

What gets me, is I never, ever get anything like this unless I have done something almost equivilent. My friend says that it's nothing to question, it's just my favorite teacher sending her favorite student a postcard, maybe he's right, but what's your opinion anyway and how do I address this? do I send her something in return, I already thanked her in person... This doesn't happen everyday, you know!

i think that spoons and forks should be banished from the union. SPORKS are such a better choice to use because u can use them with soup AND potatoes. u can use them with pudding. drugs are a good choice because it is more fashionable to huff cocaine from a spork than it is to huff them from a regular spoon. *SNIFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!*

When someone asks you to join a troop or any group of the so called "fraternities" would you be able to answer it easily "sure", or you're still going to think all the changes that may happen in your whole life. And in reality, what's with in that world of gangsters that a lot of people like, well as i can see a lot of them sufferand almost die fighting for their group.

My crazy psycho yet nice neighbor across the street asked me to drop her off to tailgate before the football game here tomorrow with her friends. I gave hints that I didn't want to, like "I'll prob. be asleep but I guess I can set my alarm," but she didn't get it. I don't see why she can't drive herself except that parking will prob. be bad. I AM NOT going to just tell her no, because that would be mean, so please don't tell me to balls up and do that. Seriously, what good excuse could I call her tonight and tell her I don't want to with? Besides I'm sick or my car is broken down. (She'd know the latter b/c she lives next to me). Any suggestions?

I mean, i haven't seen him for like 3 weeks and won't see him until january- and then not until 2008after that. Will it seem like I like him too much, or is it ok?

I'm going to my senior prom. I'm not at the moment planning to go with a guy ( maybe I will, but I may have to do the asking) but really I'm actually going with my friends (and i say for the food) but mostly for the experience. I'm not going to spend big bucks on a dress. I'm not the rich type. So, what really goes on at a prom, and is the dressing up and being with a guy the most important parts?

When visiting with a very dear friend who is terminally ill and within days of death, what do you say?

Do you try to comfort them?
Do you try to remind them of the good times you had together?
Do you try to bring peace to yourself?
Do you just try to make them laugh, or be lighthearted?
Do you try to give them permission to 'move' on?

Help!

I don't know why I get upset if someone beeps at me or is rude to me in any way when I am driving. I am just getting used to driving in the US (from England) and I don't make any mistakes but it is sometimes confusing when there are different rules over here. Sometimes I slow down to read street names if I don't know where I am going, why's that such a big deal? especially in LA the drivers are so rude! Why are people nice in person (most of the time) but angry loathing monsters once they get behind the wheel. Does anyone else get upset about this?

My friend's grandfather passed away and they are having a viewing today and a funeral (and cremation) tomorrow. I am going to try my best to go. But what happens if, for any reason I can't go? Can I pay my respects by visiting my friend at home during the week? Should I take a gift? What gift is appropriate to take?

I have a great dress to wear to a Black Tie event. The dress is a two piece. The first piece being a long a-line skirt and the second being a sleeveless and strapless top that zips up the back. Problem is I wore the dress in a wedding 1.5 years ago and the seemstress really took it in so it was tight. Now, maybe 5 lbs heavier, its still tight. I am getting dressed at the hotel with some other attendees. I will have to ask one of ladies to zip my dress knowing the top is going to be a doozy to zip around my hips/lovehandle area. I am already wearing a form fitter..it helps little. Is it ok to ask? If so, how? What do I say? Should I worry about being embarrassed?
