Even if you had your route planned out you'd still need to slow down to see the signs of where you're suppose to turn.
A lot of these people who beep at you are not prepared to slow down. Most likely that's because they are following too close.
If they were following at a decent distance there wouldn't be problem.
I'd like to see some of these people drive in a foreign country and not need to slow down to see where they're suppose to go. They'd probably react the same as you if someone beeped at them!
I've had people beep at me for not accelerating the exact moment the light turned green! Everyone's in a hurry going no where.
Driving is the one thing that requires the most amount of patience and yet so many people lack it. No wonder there are accidents.

What most of the beeping idiots don't realize is that their honking horn can often startle another driver and cause more harm. A horn was designed to use as a warning, not as an instrument of rage. Perhaps if they are in such a hurry they should leave the house a bit earlier to allow for senior drivers, tourists who don't know the city well, and people who just might become lost. Compassion, anyone??
And yes, you are correct when you say most people would not be rude to your face, but under the cloak of a vehicle, they will very quickly become an a$$hole. (Definition of a coward!)

Sorry to say most Americans are aiways either in a hurry or mad about something , so they take it out on their driving and become nasty .
I am an American so I will say that I'm sorry for who ever
did this to you . Some of us have slowed down enough to
learn to think of others and give people a break .

people are more in a hurry here in the states than in europe. and most of us do get road rage. i'm guilty too. but i guess it is better to slow down and read signs than to drive like a lunatic. don't take it personally.

Why might you honk at somebody at a force by? that is not their fault, that is truthfully relies upon on how long it takes for the staff to coach and supply them their stuff.

I can offer you some help here: Get on Yahoo Maps or Mapquest...type in your destination, and ask for driving directions! You give your starting destination, and your ending destination, and they'll give you pretty good directions for getting where you're going, and even give you maps to get there!
If you slow down a lot in traffic, you slow them down, and after all, no one matters but them (to them) so..."HONK"... don't worry too much about it, but you might want to be careful; people shoot, too, if you block traffic too much! (I wouldn't, but I've seen the aftermath a couple of times!) Good luck, there, be careful, and welcome to the USA!

I just hate to drive, especially the freeway, because of other drivers. I've never used my horn in any situation so it always fascinates me when others are so quick to do it.

Yes and what I will do is almost come to a stop just to watch them beat on the wheel. I laugh at them when they go by and that makes them even more mad.

Yes, it really makes me mad. Most of the time it's for absolutely no reason. People are nuts in their cars!

If you are slowing down to read a sign then I would beep at you too. You could cause an accident like that. If you are still trying to figure things out then don't drive on a busy street.
