I'm going to my senior prom. I'm not at the moment planning to go with a guy ( maybe I will, but I may have to do the asking) but really I'm actually going with my friends (and i say for the food) but mostly for the experience. I'm not going to spend big bucks on a dress. I'm not the rich type. So, what really goes on at a prom, and is the dressing up and being with a guy the most important parts?

I'm 32 so the prom was a long time ago for me.

What I remember was a great deal of gossiping. Girls spend HOURS and WAY too much money getting ready.High school guys spend little money and are hoping only to get lucky after the prom.

It's over-rated.

My girlfriend and I skipped ours, went to dinner and movie. Best thing we ever did. It's 18 years later and I still don't regret it.
