I'm moving out of my apartment because my roommates lied about a lot of things. Now, they are showing the room to other people and I hear them telling the same lies to prospective roommates.

Things such as: bills come to $100 per month ($200 is the truth), the landlord will replace the carpet (not true at all), the landlord will fix the broken screen (not true), area is quiet (I have complained about the neighbors many times and even had to call the police because they scream until all hours of the morning), and that the guys are quiet and laid back (they have thrown parties that kept me up all night when I had to work the next morning.)

I want to tell prospective roommates the truth, but I don't know how to do it discreetly, so that the guys won't know it was me.

It seems everytime I have a huge event, I get some gas, and it doesn't seem like it comes from the foods I eat, but just when I get nervous. Please tell me what you do when you have these problems!

It's the woman who lives there seems like half crazy.
When I told her to not to open the door because the smell of smoke gets into my suite, she said it's not the smell of smoking whereas obvious it is. And she said she would close the door right away with the smile on her face. But then 30 min. later I could smell cigarette again in my apt. and when I went out to check, she let the door open again chain-smoking in her apt. This is not the person who should deal with talk or negotiation. This is why even if I filed a complaint to the apt. manager, she could get away from downright lying. How can I counteract? What should I do? What's the most effective method of dealing with this kind of psycho?

It bothers me that she cannot communicate unless every other third word is a curse word (I'm not exagerating) She is very disrespectful, bitter, and most of the time in a bad mood. She usually takes her frustrations on me.
Your advise on how to handle her is very much appreciated.

the woman upstairs keeps stomping back and forward when ever i play music with the exception of classical. It doesn't matter what volume the music is on, she keeps stomping and banging my roof. This afternoon i received a phone call from my landlord asking me to turn down my music on behalf of the tenant. He sympathized with me, telling me that the tenant is very sensitive to noise. I told him that i play music at a very reasonable level and that if the tenant in question wishes to talk, she knows where i live.
I only play music in the afternoon as in my lease it stipulates that i cannot have noise comming from my apartment after 11pm.

if i turn down the volume of my music anymore, i might as well turn it off. i am unwilling to compromise any further.

any idea as to what my rights are? am i wrong? any suggestions as to how i can deal with this lady?

Obviously in cold climates people wear clothes to keep warm. My question is about places where this need is fulfilled without clothes. I know of some cultures where women go topless, but I haven't heard of any where the men don't cover their penises. I'm wondering why this is. My guess is that men started covering their penises to hide the times that they were sexually aroused. To further this, women were made to start wearing clothes so that men wouldn't get sexually aroused as often. Any other thoughts on this? To me, clothes seem to be an illogical part of human cultures. Maybe I am missing something.

I've been wondering about this one...sneeze <> and you don't have a kleenex, hanky or anything close. Supposing there is a restroom close by, is whether you can wash your hands or not.

Here's my problem...

I have been dating my boyfriend for a year and a half and I am finally meeting his parents (they live across the country).

My parents want to invite them over for dinner because my boyfriend has become like a second son to them.

However, he lives with his AWFUL older sister who is possibly the meanest person on earth. She despises me for no reason. She's thrown a can of soda at me (and she's 25 people!), talks poorly of me to his parents, never thanks me for the things I do for her, and never aknowledges my prescence.

Should I invite the sister to the dinner because it's the polite thing to do or should I just invite the parents?

Thoughtful advice would be greatly appreciated, thank you!!

You're visiting someone's home or business and they give you a cup of coffee and a plate of biscuits. Being a man, I simply eat all of them. Someone told me that this is rude. If it is rude, how many should I leave?
