the woman upstairs keeps stomping back and forward when ever i play music with the exception of classical. It doesn't matter what volume the music is on, she keeps stomping and banging my roof. This afternoon i received a phone call from my landlord asking me to turn down my music on behalf of the tenant. He sympathized with me, telling me that the tenant is very sensitive to noise. I told him that i play music at a very reasonable level and that if the tenant in question wishes to talk, she knows where i live.
I only play music in the afternoon as in my lease it stipulates that i cannot have noise comming from my apartment after 11pm.

if i turn down the volume of my music anymore, i might as well turn it off. i am unwilling to compromise any further.

any idea as to what my rights are? am i wrong? any suggestions as to how i can deal with this lady?

Tell the land lord you are also sensitive to noise, especially someone stomping around in the upstairs apartment and he needs to tell her to quit. Then play whatever you'd like until 11, but remember to complain if your enjoyment is interrupted by her stomping.

I would ignore the old witch. She probably uses this as a power trip. My daughter had the same problem with her downstairs neighbour, only she was using a broom handle on her floor every time the kids moved. Nothing my daughter ever did pleased her. And for the first two months, she really did try.

When my daughter gave up trying to appease this woman, and just played her music or her T.V., and allowed her kids to play, the woman kept up her act for only a little while. My daughter found out the next month that the woman decided to move. She couldn't intimidate, so she moved on.

Maybe that would be the correct line to take here. Ignore her. Do not react at all to her stomping. Play your music as you like it, within the time frame allowed on your lease. Pretend she isn't there, and maybe, pretty soon, she won't be.

thats the price of living in a an apartment. I had the same problem the music would just vibrate my floors, it used 2 make me so mad, but i told my neighbors they can listen 2 it all day if they want but when 8 at night comes around turn it down cuz i have a son and i have 2wake up at 4. They were kewl with that. find out when the biotch isnt there most of that time and listen 2 your music then. get headphones 2 for later on.

Why isn't your landlord sticking up for you? You should be able to play your music in your home at a reasonable level of sound. Would your landlord consent to moving you to another (better) apartment for the inconvenience? Definitely check with your local laws to find out your rights. It sounds like this person is trying to dictate what you listen to. That's just not OK.

Maybe some people are too softies when it comes to music noises. Any headphones available is useful, I know it is sort of oppressing getting people to stomp the building and it skips the plays and it sucks like it is. where i'm staying, no one in the house ever listens too, they just stomp and be so disrespectful and deliberately stomps the house so that the music might stop. kids in the house just runs around the house without shame and the music is skipped too. where i'm staying none has any shame of of anything that happens to them. I'm embarrassed when they're around and it comes to deliberating influence. There's a man older than I, an ugliest, most stupid, most embarrassing man you have never seen, and as you see him, you'll see that he's the most embarassing man you'll ever see deliberately. he has a tattoe, ugliest teeth, ugliest face, ugliest body, ugliest eyes, deliberately ugliest thing even it's worse than the animal seduced kid i have never seen in reality. A man who seducted a cat is hotter than him, and to see that i'm talking abou the man is he cannot stand the music he listens, being in deliberate ways and i have never seen the ugliest thing ever lived. His kid and the kid's brother deliberately stomps the house without shame of their acts. And i'm suicidal about it. i'm about to die and if they continue to do the same, i'll be dead before anyone knows it. I feel like just take a knife and cut their bodies alive and make torturing menace that they'll die before anyone knows it. If you ever see the guy, you just might want to kill him too. no matter you had once been. i hate his face, and yet he has no shame. all you can ever see him around how he just makes the same stupid words all over again. All the words you have come up with, no matter what it seems, it all just stays the same. no matter what condition, there ever was, you'll just see the same words all over again. no matter who had once been.

Don't fret and fume. I own properties and I have tenants living in them too. I respect their right to quiet enjoyment and right to privacy. I enforce the rules strictly but not unreasonably.

You are doing everything right. There is not a single thing wrong in what you have written. Just ignore, keep within the rules and carry on. You probably are too sensitive. Just grow another layer of skin and get on with your life.

To your landlord - has he posted set of rules in your living area? That's the law and these are the landlord/tenant act. If he has not, just use your better judgement and go about your duty.

Ignore the other lady. It's her problem, not yours.

slap that B****...ha just kidding...Seriously though, you should try to make friends with her...invite her to your house for a cup of tea and get to know her. Get on her good side and maybe she wont bother as much. If that doesnt work, play the annoying neighbor card and do the same thing she does to you to her. Bang on the roof with a broom... GOOD LUCK

Seriously move out! This woman will only sap your energy to the point where you won't even be happy in your own home. Take it from one who knows.

Or leave a steaming pile of dog crap on her front stoop.

I am a landlord and I have tenants upstairs. I tell them and it is written in their lease that if I can hear their music it is to loud. I don't care what time it is. Turn it down or turn it off, their choice.
