I work with the public and I am finding more and more people curse while speaking. I don't care about cursing when we have a personal relationship, but if it's business, what's with the foul language?!? I am hearing the elderly curse, otherwise intelligent people curse, and people even cursing in front of their young children? It's almost as if no one has manners anymore, and what's especially disturbing is that if it's a man, they do not censor themselves in front of a lady. I would feel strange cursing in front of someone I don't know while transacting business; I wouldn't know if I am insulting them or not. It seems very rude.

Ever encounter the rude cashier, checker or floor person? Ever want to just rare back and 'cold-cock' them or call them a "bytch" or a "bastard?" When was the last time you encountered bad customer service and what did you do about it?

I have this feeling of being insecure abt walking in the street. I'm not that pretty but i suppose I look ok and I dress up neatly and decently and I don't wear too much makeup, but in spite of that there's always someone who'll pass u by in the street and start picking on u with dirty word..
There's another thing i'm really scared of. I always have this feeling that someone might grab my bag and run with it or maybe points a knife at me and force me to give him everything...
My question is how can a girl protect herself if she's walking alone in the street or maybe riding in cab..it's not safe anymore..plz someone help me??

My boyfriend and I have worked in resturaunts for years. We, and I'm sure every other waitor out there would like and explination... Why do black people think they are exempt from tiping...If they are acting like civilized human beings they always recieve the exact same service as everyone else. I know when they are talking ebonics and acting like your owe them something they are going to get bad service..
i wish they would realize this....
but either way...no matter how good the service...you are going to get a crappy tip...if you get one at all....There are about 1% of black people that try to make up for the embarassment that the others cause, act polite, and tip really well...which we really appreciate, and most of the time they will get even better service, especially if it is not their 1st time here...I was just wondering if anyone would like to give their 2 cents...and a reasonable explination for this?...black waitors dont like waiting on black people either...just ask one..

I haven't seen my college friend, "T", in about 5 years. We met and went shopping together this past weekend. When we were in a cafeteria, the server asked if she needed her meal to be kosher or not (but she didn't ask me).
My friend asked the lady why she offered her the meal, and she said "Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you looked Jewish." My friend totally overreacted, and was really really insulted that this server thought she was Jewish (or "looked Jewish").
I just happen to have reddish hair and green eyes, and my friend has darker features.

She talked all the way home about how she was singled out by this server and I wasn't. She even talked about dyeing her hair blonde. Basically I gleaned that she equated someone calling you Jewish with "ugly" and "fat," "cross eyed", and other anti semitic garbage.

I never knew this side of her. I'm really shocked. She used to be a great friend, but I guess she has changed. Should I work on the friendship or stay away from her?

... without getting into too many details, I did some work for someone that everyone else thought was great, and he did too, at first. But the next project and the next after that the guy kept making huge changes and dragged his feet and deadlines came and went. He didn't pay the bill for the 2nd project and we think that's why he kept putting off allowing the 3rd one to be finished (because we told him we weren't giving him the 3rd finished item until number 2 was paid for). He has since cancelled the project and now he's going around accusing ME of being the problem, calling me lazy (even though I came in at night and on weekends, spending nearly double the amount of time on his project that a similar one would've taken from a more experienced client), saying my work was subpar (he has used quotes from a celebrity to show people how good my work was), I even worked some hours off the clock just so my boss wouldn't be too upset at the huge amount of time his projects were going over.

You know, there's always this girl that every guy turns around to see. Usually she's in her mid-teens to her late 20s, but the guys staring at her are from young school boys to guys in their 50s.

Currently working in a office environment. Am avoiding some of my colleagues because I am afraid of them. But I am a grown up. Why should I be afraid of them? I am also afraid of strangers who act aggresively. Is this normal behaviour.

The last time I was at a formal banquet I made a couple of sandwiches from the dinner rolls and the meat items on the entree. Was this an improper way to eat my meal?
