Theres no stopping the Apocalypse, but you have 7 days until the end. Would you spend them with your family and friends or give into the anarchy or do all the things youve never done in life?

Recently in Ireland, priests have apologised for the use of 'limbo' in their preachings. Many parents spent their lives believing that un-born or still born children were sent to the edge of hell, a place called limbo. They were never to see the face of God because they had not been baptized and therefore could not enter heaven.
Many women went to their graves in abject dispair because of this.
My question is, does this cruel and terrorizing place still exist as a workable belief within the official Roman Catholic/Christian doctrine?

I enjoy church and need it. However I don't make it my life. It disappoints me a great deal to go to church and see cliques. I mean I understand people with like minds gravitate to one another. But @ my church its much more than that. Cliques are separated by class from rich to poor. Its like some unwritten rule that if you u don't have quite as much money, then u shouldn't expect to be supported much. (support meaning moral and spiritual) *However these same semi shunned individuals are expected to pay tithes* And the closer you are to the pastor the worse the mentality gets. I grew up in this church and as a child I never knew the "cliques" that existed. My dad and the pastor are related so that "spared" me. I don't want to have a negative attitude towards church. But that sort of foolishness GETS ON MY NERVES!!! its unnecessary.. really. People have been deeply wounded by the actions of some of these ppl.

my husband is for almost a year now a saved christian (pentecostal). things have been tough since he has changed so much and is not really the person i married anymore. 2 years ago he was a catholic, i went to his birthplace of guatemala +brought back a souviner of a cristo *****. this is a crucifix with the jesus made of some black material. there is a story behind that. anyway now he is demanding i throw it out. i told him it is just art and a momento for me and to demand i throw it out was wrong. he seems to think it is evil demon type thing since money is tight right now. im like dont be stupid, we have house, food and all bills paid i dont see us having bad luck. i offered to compromise by not throwing it away but taking it down and putting it in storage since its mine. i guess i really dont care since im not really religious (deist) but its the principle of the thing. since he has demanded it goes to the trash. what would you do? and whats the big deal anyway with crucifixes?

2 years ago I was an exchange student in another country. For the first 5 months I lived with a widow and her daughter. I must be honest an say she was good to me and that she is a good person. I was still very much emotinally messed up back then.I can also say I was still immature and very unhappy at the time.I never wanted to admit to myself or others I wanted to go there just to escape from home and not relly to learn the language.I am ready to admit it now to whoever needed and I am ready to apologize to her. Basically,I asked my agency to find me a new host family and I had no reason to do it.I told the house was too cold or something, but in fact the whole problem was in my head.I was also avoiding her for the last 2 days and I could see she was hurt, but I left without saying goodbye and she wasn`t there when I was leaving.Sometime later I saw her on the street and said hello, but she just passed me by.I feel like trash and I can`t forgive myself. I feel I need to apologize, but how?

Do the people who ask questions only taking into consideration atheists and Christians not know that there are other religions and religious positions than these two?

I mean it's not like they are polar opposites or even the majorities either, so why the focus on these two groups?

How can they NOT expect negativity to come back to them?

I often see some Christian questions like: "Why do atheists attack Christianity?"

Isn't cause and effect a reality in their worldview? Or is their entire worldview so encapsulated by religious superstition that simple cause and effect becomes 'prophecy' to them?

Christians, Muslims, what do you think?

An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was witnessed:

A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask) was standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout.

When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier, she made a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin, which the female cashier was wearing on her blouse.
The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, 'Yes, I always wear it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him'.
The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman:
'Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this ladies son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just like YOU can stand here, in England, which

Hi all, I work in a Mall, so you could imagine the influx of customers since Christmas is fast approaching, during our closing and cleaning procedures, I found an envelope in the floor. I picked it up an it was a William Sonoma Envelope with a Gift Card neatly placed in the Center and it seems like it was NEVER been used. The only writing on this card was the amount on it. Since there is no way to track the original owners of this Card, I want to pass it on as a Gift for somebody else. I guess you might say "finders keepers losers weepers" sorta mentality. My question is, if the actual owner realizes of this loss, can this person put a stop payment on this Gift Card? And of course the embarassment I will get from this person who I am going to pass it on too. So what am I suppose to do with a Gift Card that has Value and there is no way to track to Original Owner? Serious replies only please.

i'm 20, never had any partner and dream about females and get very excited. when i was about 8 i used to think i was in the wrong body and should have been a boy. when i got to high school i started thinking that it was strange that i wasn't into boys like all the other girls and felt uncomfortable around girls, so i asked my mum if i was gay, she said i would start to like boys when i was ready so didn't really think about it still thinking , when i was 18, that i would start to like boys but I've only like about two boys and that was their personality. so now I'm 20 and still don't feel anything for guys. i do want a b/f but only to protect me. my brother is gay and so is my cousin. i like the idea of begin a lesbian better than straight. i prefer to listen to female singers. i look at girls alot and never guys. i asked my cousin what she thought and she said that its normal to look at other girls. she wasn't much help and was kind of pissed off cos she didn't know i knew.

Ask yourself and be honest

Many Christians often say that GOD created the Universe, and that there was no need for anything to create GOD because he is outside of space and time.

Beyond the notion that that would mean GOD doesnt exist, since for something to exist, it probably has to be within the bounds of space and time, let's ponder this:

Christians say GOD is eternal, and just always was. What was GOD doing for say, 2 billion "years" before he made the Universe?

Was he sniffing cosmic dust? Was he painting his Godly toe nails? Just imagine this with me now. He always was......that means he could have been "always was", for 2 billion "years", before he finally took a notion to create the Universe!!??

What would be the purpose of an all powerful, all knowing GOD to create anything?Wouldn't a GOD be content with himself alone? Did he create us and the Universe simply to worship and praise him? Wouldn't that make him a vain and selfish Deity beyond belief?

And is what you do written in scripture. Such as does the bible say its ok to have a bandstand instead of an alter. A big screen TV and such at the front of the church. How the Minister preaches are their any guidelines in the Bible for church service.
