An incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was witnessed:

A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (A black gown & face mask) was standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout.

When it was her turn to be served, and as she reached the cashier, she made a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin, which the female cashier was wearing on her blouse.
The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, 'Yes, I always wear it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him'.
The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi.

At that point, a Gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward, and interrupted with a calm and gentle voice, and said to the Iraqi woman:
'Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this ladies son have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just like YOU can stand here, in England, which

is MY country and allow you to blatantly accuse an innocent check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen'.
'It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in Iraq, which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn't need to be fighting there today'.
'However - now that you have learned how to speak out and criticise the English people who have afforded you the protection of MY country, I will gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to Iraq '.
'When you get there, and if you manage to survive for being as outspoken as what you are here in England, then you should be able to help straighten out the mess which YOUR Iraqi countrymen have got you into in the first place, which appears to be the reason that you have come to MY country to avoid.'
Apparently the queue cheered and applauded.

I wouldn't give a monkeys if i offended anyone. I would wear my badge with pride, and if it offended anyone then so what. The people who are in this country are guests and should respect any of our traditions, including our national flag and what this country does. if not there own country is always there for them to go back to

Fair play to the cashier and the man in the queue! I would have applauded too! I have my opinions about these things, but it is a sad fact that in this day and age in this country, you are slated more for having an opinion about things like this than for being a Muslim in the UK and protesting against our religions and heritage.

I say when in Rome and all that. Look what happened to the teacher in Sudan! They have the right idea, although far too extreme, but if you want to be in our country then abide by our rules and regulations! End of!

I loved reading that. I'm british (asian if i must add), my family CHOSE to come to England from Uganda (originally from iran and india). My mother was only 4 in 1970 when she came, and she has always taught us that we are british first. I feel saddened that other people will call themselves pakistani or indian or iraqi before calling themselves british. I wear my poppy with pride for remembrance day - apart from my mum and brother - ive never seen anyone with foreign roots wear one. i think its disgusting!! Im very proud of our lads out in there, as i am of the veterans. I might not be white in colour, but I'm just as british as gladys the old lady across the road or bill the guy that owns the pub. Im sorry to say this but if we look at anglo jewry, theyre not christians either but they integrated very well and muslims as well as hindus sikhs and anything else ought to do the same
be british or fu** off is my harsh message.
Oh my rant!

if only ther rest of the world would realize the truth that was the heart of this incident it would be a better place. a good knowledge of what islam actually teaches would enlighten the non-islamist and perhaps give strength to the simple fact that they are a threat to the judeo-christian based free way of life

This person who stood forward and voiced his opinion so articulately should be the the bloody Prime Minister!!!

Yes your right more of us should open our mouths - but I think they should keep theirs shut and if they want to be so outspoken they should not slag our country as it has given them a home and they should be grateful.

I think they should all be forced to return to their own countries - they clearly hate Britain and it's people so why should we let them stay here - AND PAY FOR THEM TO DO SO!!

Unfortunately the gentlemen has a very selective recollection of history. You see, if it wasn't for Britain's incessant interference in Iraq's affairs over the last century, its more than likely the woman in question and so many like her, would never have had to flee their homeland.

Ageed.

The biggest problem is that our freedoms allows muslims to unfairly push their own agenda .... which in the extremists level is often anti-american and even anti-good.

Funny, that same Urban Legend is going around the states, only it is an American Flag pin.

Really, how many Brits are fighting in Iraq ?

Not a Muslim -- But I don't care much for people who use the in ternet to spread unsubstantiated rumors. Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Sammie - So that gives people the right to bear false witness ? And I hope your hubby comes home safe & sound.

Because that man was incredibly brave. I'm a coward, but if I had the courage to say something like that...I would. As I see it, England is our country...if you don't want to live by our rules then you know where you can go... I don't think that makes me prejudiced, just patriotic.
