I am writing to a Dutch friend and wanted to include the following. Do not worry about the delay in the reply. I am glad to hear you are all getting along better now. I had prayed for the situation.

Cause or effect?

Because I think no matter what side of the issue you're on, you probably agree with the (unscientific) observation that there are more crazies here than in other sections.

In an uncomplimentary sense, evolution would have you exist as a mere link in an endless chain, with bigger and more glorious apes yet to rise from the seed of your seed of your seed, ad infinitum.
In this context, the best life you can hope for here is to live again, and a little better, through them, as expressed by the aphorism: "Your children are your future." But if we shall one day be they, who are we now?
We can have no special human identity as the "image and likeness of God'" for the spirit of ancient monkeys is perpetuating itself in us. How preposterous, utterly ridiculous and if you don't mind me saying outrightly stupid !

Do you still believe in it, after all that's been said ?

On CNN news, I find an interesting news.

Princess Diana's love letter to Doti was revealed for inquest.
I read a few lines and feel her words are beautiful.

After a holiday on Doti's yacht, Diana wrote: "This comes with all the love in the world and as always a million heartfelt thanks for bringing such joy into this chick's life."

"Darling Dodi, these cufflinks were the very last gift from the man I loved most in the world, my father," she wrote. "They are given to you as I know how much joy it would give him to know they were in such safe and special hands. Fondest love, Diana."

Except she called herself as "chick" makes me confused, I feel her words showed genuine love instead of flirting.

In Chinese, chick is very offensive swearword. People only refer chick to a prostitute. Prostitute would not call herself chick. Actually I put Diana's words in my MSN space for friends and people start to debate. There is no way for Diana to devalue herself to that extent, had she been willing to show Dodi her love. That is my opionion. Mine is based on my understanding to "chick".

Maybe in English chick has another meaning beyond the confine by my understanding, or Chinese language even. Anyway I have never seen some one use chick to describe herself in English language world, not in a book, not in a movie, and not in daily life. Have you? I would like to see your comments.

I am looking for a gift that isn't impersonel. I will be at their house Christmas morning without my husband-he has to work. They have 2 kids, and one on the way. They are in their early thirties. They are prbably more into function than fashion. Any ideas?

the way people are always overhyping heaven like it's the greatest thing since sliced bread makes me think of all the other things in my life that have been promised to be great and then never live up to the hype. we've all had experiences like this. think about maybe a movie you've seen that was built up to be the greatest movie to ever come out of hollywood, then you go watch it and it sucks. then there are things which we're told totally suck, you go and check it out and it turns out a lot better than some people gave it credit for being. these are things which were overhyped by living people who experienced them first hand, and it happens all the time. so why should i think heaven and hell are any different? first off, no living person has seen heaven or hell, so nobody can really make a fair assessment of either if either exists. secondly, why, if based on past overhypings should i trust anyone's opinion but my own?

Hi, my boyfriend really wants to go further (handjob) in the relationship but I don't know if it's a sin, because it's not intercourse, and it is not leading to intercourse, because my boyfriend does not have intentions on having sex with me, and even if he did, I have a firm stand on abstinence.

So the question is, is mutual masterbation a sin?

Thanks

Nowhere in the Bible does it state that it is to be taken literally, and we all know that historically, Abrahamic religions have taken creative liberty in their interpretations of Judaic scripture.

Why do some theists believe that evolution is not reconcilable to their god's plan for creation (after all, "creation" doesn't necessarily imply "instantaneous")?

Consider this the hint of the century
Consider this
The slip that brought me to my knees failed
What if all these fantasies come flailing around
Now I've said too much.

Ok, The human DNA contains more organized information than the 'Encyclopedia Britannica'. If the full text of the encyclopedia were to arrive in computer code from outer space, most people would regard this as proof of the existence of extraterrestrial intelligence. But when seen in nature, it is explained as the workings of random force.

Why is that?

There are countless questions posed on here that suggest that we only have morals because of "god" or the bible and that we just couldn't possibly have just come up with them all on our little own. Do you find that a very sad Indictment on them more then anything else? Really tragic don't you think?

Let us look at man's origin from a more enlightened point of view, one that observes the evolutionary process of having
been triggered by a falling away from a higher order of existence ?
If that is the case, we might expect a devolutionary process to claim us, a sort of "devolving" evolution of earthly compensations, accompanied by inner and outer conflict. The only way we would know how to treat one another would be as animals, rather than as people . As a result, we would come to need some kind of order, and it would have to be imposed on us from the outside, right ?
In other words, we would come to need the kind of law (the law written in our heart - the true religion really) that we left behind when we fell from the Inner Ground of Reality.

Now, if that be the case, where would you think the answer should logically come - from fallen men or The One Who Create Us ?

Who knows better?

Evolutionist's father or the creature's Father-God?

What say you all?

Do we judge who God is, or who people think He is based on the many people claiming to do His work? Is it because of the selfish desires and the condescending behavior of so many that claim to be acting in God's name that people draw their conclusion on who God must be? Is this part of the reason people are turned off to the idea of God or claim that He doesn't exist?
