Yes, I find it sad that they have more faith in an imaginery being whose existance it will never be possible to prove than the faith they're supposed to have in their own kind. Each and every one of us is born with a good protion of sense for what's right and wrong. The rest is up to our upbringing and the circumstances that await us in life.
Not only do I find it sad, but I find it pessimistic as well. Why assume that we're doomed to be wicked? Why even give it a thought that we were initially born evil? That's very pessimistic in my eyes, and I don't think pessimism ever brought any good to anyone.

What?? Sad?? No way!
Are you going to decide what is right and wrong? what if someone else comes up with a different set of morals and they conflict with yours?
The morals and regulations of the bible are for our good!
The problem is that a lot of people - like yourself - do not believe that there is any absolute truth, truth that is unchanging, truth that remains the truth no matter what the circumstances or the times. That is exactly what the bible gives us - unchanging truth - good for all time!
Sad? Here is what is really sad: People who think they have no need of God or the bible, people who have deluded themselves and who are heading down the terrible path to destruction.
god bless

I do find it sad that we can't all treat each other with respect without looking outside ourselves for a reason. I often wonder what people who claim their morals come only from a religious book would do if they didn't have that book.
I suppose until we can all find an internal moral compass religion is a necessary evil to keep those who need it from killing the rest of us.

I just think it's kind of funny, actually.
You don't kill people because other people deserve to live a full life just like you do... not because their guide book says not to.
I've asked many christians if they'd be killing, raping, stealing monsters if the bible said that they could, and I've yet to get a real answer.
Real power and happiness comes from creating your own moral code. Some of the most decent, moral people I know are not god-people, and some of the most excuse-throwing (Oh, I can do that because God loves me and will forgive me!), immoral jerks I know are god-people.

I think we should take GUIDELINES from the Bible, follow the Ten Commandments and such. But our morals need to be our own decision. No book can tell you how to live if you don't want to live that way. We should follow what God tells us, and the rest should be based on what we think is right.

Very tragic. How lost they must think we'd be without that little list of ten things to do. If only they better studied their list of ten things and saw that critical thinking played a more important role in life than their precious words.

Morality that does not change comes ONLY from God who does not change.
Amorality which changes from situation to situation and person to person comes from man.
Wrong is wrong even if everyone is doing it, and right is still right even if no one is doing it.
Your opinion, with respect to morality, does not count.
Have a great day!

It is sad, and it's also dangerous. The reason it's dangerous is because although pretty much all Christians have apologetic responses as to why THEIR behavior is Biblical, they have no problem pushing laws to prohibit behavior they are not interested in, but that some obscure verse in the Bile prohibits.
So you have the Fred Phelps hate cult behind 'godhatesfags.com', but no similar hate cult for 'godhatesfornicators.com', because they like to fornicate and say "oh well, it's really not so bad because..."

When you think you saw a christian mess up, what basis was your judgement made on? Who taught you what was right and wrong and where did they get their understanding ? Where you born with that understanding in you? If you are born with it, why don't you always do right? If you are not born with it, where did it actually come from? If not from the Creator, then you are following other men's thoughts.

No, because that "book" is the written word of God...Inspired by God...and there is nothing in that "book" that would cause someone to live an unfulfilled life and the eternal rewards are awesome...I do not think it is sad at all.
