Without looking up wikipedia, or any other freakin dictionary site, or browser, i would like a perfect definition of a what a heathen is, its latin predecessor, and what its origin is from. In the meantime, i will be searching through wikipedia and other sources to find out if you copied and pasted, therefore being thumbs downs.

I guess this question is directly towards America in general, but basically 1st world societies. It's very evident and clear to me, just from simple observation of our society that nearly everything is about planing, technology, business, money, getting from point A to point B, task oriented, workaholic. Everything. You're in school 24/7, or work 24/7, and if you're not doing anything at all with your time, you're considered crazy, depressed, or a "loser."

Everything is a business. At least in America. And, as much as these businesses sell you the illusion of happiness, success, beauty, etc, at the end they only care about the bottom line: the dollar.

So my questions are,

1)Why especially America, have we chosen to accept this lifestyle and pursue it?

2)Is there a different approach to this life, where we're basically statistics, serving the dollar and the govt?

3)Where the hell does GOD fit into any of this? I think it's laughable. Look around you. God = not here.

Why is it so bad to not believe? Or even to question contradictions to a particular faith? Why does it personally offend people? I don't get angry when other's question my Spiritual beliefs. I am looking for the truth, and trying to understand why all of the time.

Is this what you think about others who do not share your religion/theology?

How does this promote ideals of peace and loving thy neighbor?

Ladies:
My next door neighbour found her husband cheating on her. I think she walked in on them. After the initial fighting and arguing, she forgave him within 3 days! He didn't apologize and even tried to rationalize that it's his 'lifestyle' etc, and that she, his wife, was the crazy one for getting upset.
I don't know about you, but I don't think she should have stayed one second upon finding the two cheaters in her bed together.
Since then, while she has been at work, he has had other women over again.
I don't particularly like the wife (or the husband), in fact, otherwise I find her rude and a bit odd and I'm not friends with her. But putting that aside and in the name of the 'girl's code', would you tell the wife anyway that her husband has since cheated on her, or would you leave it alone figuring that she knows the deal and that she has chosen to tolerate his behaviour?

If a religion sets itself apart from another by opting for a fairly unique set of tenets, how valid is the religion's belief system if it borrows ideology from, often, the "wrong" religion? How much "borrowed" content would be required to invalidate a religion all together? If you have any examples, please provide them.

Some theists claim that God revealed his existence to them through a miracle, answered prayer, or holy book.

Others argue that God does not prove himself to us because he is not accountable to us.

There are also those who say God constantly proves he exists through the order and beauty of nature.

My question is -- What exactly is God willing to do to demonstrate his existence or power? What does God refuse to do?

consider for a moment that a lifeform far more advanced than man was 2000 years ago (both technologically and biologically) landed on earth. would people know the difference between some sort of ufo, or would they attribute it to being from god? imagine the lifeform was very similar to humans and could procreate with us. just imagine if any of us could go back in time with the knowledge we have of science. what sort of things could we pull off to convince people we were god? with our knowledge of medice, how hard would it be for us to cure the sick, or the blind? with our knowledge of physics, how hard would it be to develop shoes which allow us to walk on water? and that's just talking about us. i'm not even talking about aliens that have mastered intergalactic travel. imagine what sort of technology they might possess that we don't. if they knew we were searching for god, don't you think they'd try to have some fun at our expense?

I am having my graduation party at a loft at a swanky downtown sushi restaurant. I will get a few sushi rolls and appetizers to place on the table, but everyone will have to pay for their own alcohol and entrees if they want to eat. All of my good friends know this already, but I feel that I should put it on the invite anyway. How should I word it? Thanks!!!

Would it be more apropriate to say "Have an honest Christmas" rather than say "Merry Christmas" cause of the inspired greed by the thought of Santa Claus, which it instead should be based on the birth of jesus christ?
Or if your wiccan, should be based on Yule? I know that Santa claus is nothing more than a marketing ploy used by (EVEN THOUGH I AM ONE BY THE WAY) Athiests to appease all religions into buying products?
Shouldnt it be the birth of jesus christ rather than the arrival of santa claus bringing presents to all the good boys and girls?

Cause ive been brought up to believe in Christ, yet i became an atheist after realizing the faults of the bible, but seriously, WTF HAPPENED TO THEORIGINAL MEANING OF CHRISTMAS PEOPLE?

BTW: the question is just whether it would be more proper to say have an honest christmas, rather than a merry christmas, the other stuff was more questions for the people that spend time reading this.

I wanted to put this to all my brothers and sisters. This life that we received is a life that is of God. We were first born of the human life, born of flesh. But one day when we believed into the Lord Jesus we received the divine Life of the Father. We were Born of the Spirit in our spirit. Our spirit which was once deadened has become enlivened and filled with the Life of God. The Lord said that He came that we might have life and have it abundantly.
NOW.
I just wanted to touch this with you. The LIfe that we received makes us a part of the Body of Christ. This life is a "Body Life" Its the Life that makes us not just one with the Lord but one with all the dear members of this Body. So tell me. How do you see your brothers and sisters. Do we see just persons that we meet with or do we see members of Christ. How we address the saints, treat them, care for them. Do we do so with Christ in view. Do we care for the members as we would care for Christ?
Please share.
Your sister.

This question is only for sincere Mormons who know well their faith --Theology and Christology. As a Jesusonian Christian, I am not much familiar with the LDS doctrines. I do believe that all Protestants and Mormons and Catholics are spiritually equal Brothers and Sisters with all Jesusonians and Jesusonian Christians in the Family of God in Jesus Christ here in Spirit.

About 20 or more years ago, I did read just once all of the "Book of Mormon"; and I found a statement (I forget now where) which stated the great Truth that Jesusonians also know:

Jesus Christ is both God the Father and God the Son to us ! We Jesusonians also know that He is also the Father-Son Union to us; and I know fully that that HE IS I AM to us now and eternally. He is also our very Elder Brother and He is much more, ever being Revealed to us by both continual Epochal- and auto- (personal-) Revelation. He is our One Holy Father-Son-Spirit of ALL TRUTH of/as GOD the Infinite I AM.

Thank you ! Peace

I regularly take a walk in the park and I like to take a small pistol with me and shoot at birds. I have managed to kill the odd pigeon or starling but nothing too exotic and I only do it when there is hardly anyone around so it is safe. However some of the locals have got really angry! I've always managed to run off but I don't understand what their problem is as the pigeons are always pooing everywhere so I'm just eradicating rodents really. What do you think?
