The Qur'an was revealed 14 centuries ago. The Qur'an instructs Muslims to "contemplate the wonders of creation" (Qur'an 3:191).
It is filled with scientific facts and imagery that are supported by modern findings. Now, i give you one of the thousands examples:

"And Allah has created every animal from water. Of them there are some that creep on their bellies, some that walk on two legs, and some that walk on four..." (24:45)

This clearly, very clearly explains the evolution of animals (not men) , which they all started from sea creatures. This was first argued by Charles Robert Darwin, born in 1809, about 200 years ago.

Now, atheists, what else do you want? or you are just enjoying an argument?

If you still disagree, i do not see why you would, please, please have a read at Quran and decide yourself, since we all know human (me and you) could be wrong about what we think.

With your child's last name being different from your new name and your new husband's name, what is the appropriate way to sign the cards now?

From the NIV Bible, Deuteronomy 22:13-18
If a man takes a wife and, after lying with her, dislikes her , and slanders her and gives her a bad name, saying, "I married this woman, but when I approached her, I did not find proof of her virginity,"
then the girl's father and mother shall bring proof that she was a virgin to the town elders at the gate.
The girl's father will say to the elders, "I gave my daughter in marriage to this man, but he dislikes her.
Now he has slandered her and said, 'I did not find your daughter to be a virgin.' But here is the proof of my daughter's virginity." Then her parents shall display the cloth before the elders of the town,
and the elders shall take the man and punish him.
Deuteronomy 22:13-18 absolutely could not have referred to the husband covering his penis with the cloth and inserting it into his wife's vagina. The verse clearly talked about the cloth being in the parents' possession, and it clearly referred to having the evidence right before the wedding night.
How can you justify to your daughter or sister that it is Biblically and religiously OK to insert a finger (whether by male or female; it doesn't matter) into her vagina to test her virginity?
I mean, beside the woman's husband, who should really have the authority to touch her in her private like that, the husband doesn’t even have the authority if the wife doesn’t allow him.

It was Christians that put an end to the roman gladiatorial games and crucifixion.
When it comes to science it was a monk that was the father of Genetics (Joseph Mendel) and even the big bang theory was fist proposed by a catholic priest and he was ridiculed by many scientists.
Whatever you think of religion, If it weren't for superstition there wouldn't have been a pursuit of science. Chemistry is the descendent of Alchemy and astronomy is the descendent of astrology.

What impact, if any, do you feel when you hear the words "Christmas is a pagan holiday!" "Getting trees is a Pagan ritual that you stole from them" I've even heard someone say they want to vomit ....

Are you hurt? Do you say to yourself "Do they expect this to impact my faith?" Sometimes I think, so what? I don't celebrate my own kids birthday party on their exact day sometimes if it doesn't fall on a weekend and I steal ideas from their friends parties, that doesn't mean I'm not truly exploding with pride and love sharing that day with him. The trees, the ornaments the gifts are just extras that doesn't supply the meaning but a festiveness surrounding the meaning.

How do you respond, in your heart? and how would you reply to someone who said this?

If you're listening, DebraM and Suzanne, I would love to hear your responses.

I am a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando. We have roughly 14,000 members. The sanctuary only holds 6,200......so we have 2 morning services on Sunday.

Although he didn't want it, our pastor is escorted by an off-duty officer at all times in the church (I think he's armed)

Questions:
1) Does your church have an armed guard?
2) Do you feel that all churches above a certain size should mandate having a guard present?

Thanks,

Primo

Let's face it....gift giving can get out of hand during this time of the year. So, majority of the population charge their impressive gifts last year. Have you paid off that debt yet so you can spend it again this year?

Many people experience 'the still small voice'. Typically following prayer, meditation or contemplation. I don't think the experience is limited to people of faith. What are your respectful opinions about what this is?

A company called Sweco estimated that Santa would only have 34 microseconds per stop if he was going to deliver presents to all the children in the world OF ALL FAITHS.

HELLO? Do we now have to submit even our myths and legends to the ridiculous buzzsaw of political correctness? If you're going to assume that Santa is real and that he delivers presents on Christmas Eve, then you have to assume that he's delivering to CHRISTIAN children, as this is a Christian holiday. When will the madness end?

The old saying is "Tis the season" yet several people seem to be more worried about the word "Christ"mas than spreading jolliness. So my question is do you consider it an insult when someone says Merry Christmas, or are we just hearing about a small majority in the world. This would be a great question for Christmas, Hannukkah and Kwanza celebrators alike.
