I don't understand what you are getting at. It is more ignorant, short sited and eagletistical to think that we are the greatest being in existance. The most christians who are ignorant about science are people who are uneducated.
Ever heard of Michio KaKu and Charles B. Thaxton they believe in a god and they are scientist. Pascal Eienstein, Galileo, Gottfried W. Leibnitz, Isaac Newton, Robert Boyle all scientist and all believed in a god. And so did Steven Hawkings, only after his illness did he deny his faith. Sorry but we will come and go, but there will always be the believe in a Superior being. The same people who attack religion are the same who call out for god when **** hits the fan.

I think it's because of that stupid "Eye of God" junk mail I'm always getting from Christian friends and family. The Helix Nebula, aka NGC 7293. From this direction it looks like a big eye. From the side, it looks like a can of pepsi. Maybe we should call it the Pepsi Can of God and send out a bunch of chain emails about how much crazy you are not to believe in God because only God could make a Pepsi can out of stars!
Anyway, apparently the majesty of creation is supposed to be uplifting proof of god's existence. The wonderful things about astronomy are just more glorious proof.
That, and they're proselytzing.

I don't do that, and since I don't look at questions and answers in that section I can't comment to that directly. However, I do see plenty of Darwinists in the R & S section ridiculing those who believe in Creation. I would think that the science of evolution that so much wants to take God out of the equation would want to be far removed from that category.

Because they honestly believe that someday astronomers will find proof of 'heaven' or 'god' somewhere in the cosmos.
In fact a lot of them already believe that the proof has already been found. (And then covered up - because it's always got to be an anti-christian conspiracy with these people).

The usual argument is Look how big the universe is, and how well organized, and beautiful, how can you say nobody made it?
I say "I never said that, I said that I made it!" You should see the reactions, I usually end up ROFL
