consider for a moment that a lifeform far more advanced than man was 2000 years ago (both technologically and biologically) landed on earth. would people know the difference between some sort of ufo, or would they attribute it to being from god? imagine the lifeform was very similar to humans and could procreate with us. just imagine if any of us could go back in time with the knowledge we have of science. what sort of things could we pull off to convince people we were god? with our knowledge of medice, how hard would it be for us to cure the sick, or the blind? with our knowledge of physics, how hard would it be to develop shoes which allow us to walk on water? and that's just talking about us. i'm not even talking about aliens that have mastered intergalactic travel. imagine what sort of technology they might possess that we don't. if they knew we were searching for god, don't you think they'd try to have some fun at our expense?

tahoe, aliens are not new. relatively new maybe, but there have been claims of aliens for at least the past 100 years.

and are you saying something can't exist is we don't know anything about it? that's a rather bold assumption.

maverick, perhaps this is all part of the aliens plans. to turn us against each other. why should they destroy us when we do a perfectly good job of it on our own? they can just sit back and relax while we kill each other over a god they invented. brilliant, aren't they?

I believe such a hypothesis to be very possible. At least as possible as the existence of God and/or Jesus. While nothing has been proven about any space aliens/extraterrestrials, the same holds with God and Jesus, except what somebody wrote some 2000+ years ago. Any logical person should know the Bible is not PROOF, but only somebody's writing about what may or may not be. Just because the Bible says it is the word of God, does not mean that it is.

In other words, keep an open mind, anything is possible until PROVEN otherwise.

If extraterrestrials are advanced enough to get here, they are advanced enough to perform artificial insemination and to blend in or be invisible.

Our medical advances haven't come to the point yet where we can raise the dead. We may be able to revive people who have "died" a few minutes ago, but to revive someone who has been in the grave for a few days...there's your challenge to prove that you are God.
Jesus is the giver of life, no one else has been able to do what he did. Most of the time His miracles were done by a touch or a word. Our "miracles" need a lot of sophisticated machinery... and then we can't even be sure of the outcome.

Dude, if the aliens visited us long back, then they would have ruled over us or alteast would be hanging around. I don't see any.

Why should they leave us and go away.

You think as you do, because you have not experienced the existence of God.

Jesus proved himself to be the true son of God. Can you and I be like him? atleast 50%? I can't. That is why he is so great.

The part your missing here is Jesus was born of man. He was one of us, but seperate as he was God and led a sinless life. He wasnt born thirty years old, and when it came to cruxifixion for our sins, I think an alien would have said no way!

It is a possibility that we are all aliens, God is in heaven, we think of heaven as "in the sky." When we die, maybe we go back to our original planet.
