I know it is really gross but he swears by it. Does anyone know of any proof 1 way or the other? Or any logic behind either view? Thanks!

I am refering to this question.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20071116113100AAXQJbc&cp=1

Only a handfull saw that 1+1 CAN equal 1. I was refering to boolean algebra, but it was good to see that some came up with other explanations too. That is what I was hoping for.

This question was meant to show one thing, some of you really do not have an open mind. Why do I want to show this? Because it is hard to sit back and watch you accuse others of doing something you are guilty of. You may ask, why didn't I direct this question towards Christians...well, quite honestly I don't see many of them claiming to be open minded...and if I am being really honest, I don't think most of them are. But I do think atheists should be if they make the claims that they in fact are open minded.

Now my question is to those that flat out told me I was wrong, stupid, a moron, or any other negative remark.

Do you admit that you have some work to do on opening your mind?

I drove pass a Jehovah Witness Hall today and saw about 15 neighborhood dogs standing in front of the hall's doors, this looked really scary any mysterious. These were different dogs from all around the neighborhood. What could possibly have attracted these dogs to this Hall. There were no cars there and it was at 7am today. This was very wierd and I would like to know if there could possibly have been some type of connection or something that I dont know about. I am not a Jehovah's Witness but am very curious and need serious answers only please.

Is being "Born Again" an experience?

You would think that if God came to live in you that you would have some kind of experience that would cause you to have a complete live change. Can someone who has been Born Again explain that experience please?

couples having children? this question sprang to mind as i just saw a mentally handicapped couple walk past, and she is pregnant. i wondered how they were going to care for a baby and how they can have enough money to raise it.

i'm not saying that i'm against them having children, or that i'm all for it.. i'm just curious how you feel about it and if your religion weighs on your opinion

one must love in order to be loved, or in the idea of Us loving God we must keep his commandments. but in order for us to keep his commandments we must have been loved first? Or does god truly Love us unconditionally? or is unconditional love an oximoron?

"Racism is simply an ugly form of collectivism, the mindset that views humans strictly as members of groups rather than individuals. Racists believe that all individuals who share superficial physical characteristics are alike: as collectivists, racists think only in terms of groups. By encouraging Americans to adopt a group mentality, the advocates of so-called "diversity" actually perpetuate racism. Their obsession with racial group identity is inherently racist. The true antidote to racism is liberty. Liberty means having a limited, constitutional government devoted to the protection of individual rights rather than group claims. Liberty means free-market capitalism, which rewards individual achievement and competence, not skin color, gender, or ethnicity."

This is what Ron Paul says and I agree with him. What do you think?

I am a catholic, i go to church on Sundays (most of the time) I went to a catholic grade school, high school, even a mostly catholic college yet I dont agree or follow many of the "rules" I dont go to confession, I perform sexual acts with women, I drink heavily (on the weekends), I believe in condoms and birth control, I think abortion is right in some circumstances, and people who are really really religious piss me off.
I am sure there are other catholics like me, what do you think?

I have always heard that the "bare" minimum obligation requires Catholics to receive the Eucharist once a year, as is set forth in the Third Precept of the Church ("You shall humbly receive your Creator in Holy Communion at least during the Easter Season.")

Wind-up Question: Is this true, or are all of the precepts mandatory to be considered a practicing Catholic?

And Here's the Pitch: My grandfather was raised Catholic, and always considered himself so, but he was denied his request for a Catholic burial in 1962 because he was not practicing. Is this now, or was this proper at the time? Or were we dealing with local custom or uninformed priest?

Thanks - Jim C.

because I don't believe that, all of them ( I'm talking about the ones that come here everyday to find out about God) are 100% atheists.

there must be a small % of those who secretly believe in a high power being!

what do you think?

are you one of those? don't be afraid to express your feelings

There have been a lot of feverishly repetitive posts lately asking why we "worship" Mary, the saints, and even the Pope (?). Truthful answers given have resulted in blocking the answerers ... the old childish game. So obviously the questions are rhetorical and insincere.

As one of those "honored" to be blocked by one fired-up questioner, I'd like to provide the opportunity for actual discussion that blocking tends to stifle.

Yes, I know ... this isn't the first time by a long shot. But new folks show up every day. So would any Catholics care to explain once again to those with granite craniums exactly WHO we worship -- as opposed to what it "looks like" to non-Catholics?

Of course, since this is (supposed to be) an open forum, anyone else is free to post their opinions too.
