Is being "Born Again" an experience?

You would think that if God came to live in you that you would have some kind of experience that would cause you to have a complete live change. Can someone who has been Born Again explain that experience please?

No two experience exactly the same... for most it is a calm and personal moment with God... others do get some more carried away... far too many only think they have had the experience. Falling victim to self induced hysteria...

I can tell you that for me, as I was not even thinking about that at all until it happened... it caught me so off guard it was moths before I could verbalize even a part of it... I was not looking for God... but one moment I was a mocker of the "biblethumppers" and the next moment I had received God's free gift of Salvation and I was one of The Church with my place in Heaven assured... can I "explain" it... not in any words you would understand unless it has happened to you... it is one-on-one with God...

If you would like to read my testimony of that day you may email me and I will give you the link to it.

When one is born anew as mentioned in John 3, it is the Holy Spirit taking up residence in the believer. Some things change immediately, some changes take a lifetime. When the Spirit indwells a believer, you're eyes and ears are open for the first time, you receive the gift of faith and you are convicted about your sin. The Holy Spirit draws us to the savior. The changes over time is the sanctification process. Over time, your thoughts and desires are brought closer to God's. Your desire for sin diminishes and your desire for God and the things of God increases.

Evangelical Christendom does not have a patent on defining "born again". The Bible is clear: Baptismal regeneration = born from above, or "born again". From the Catholic perspective it is not an experience, but a sacramental grace. The conscious act of someone at or above the age of reason to "accept Christ", or acknowledge Him publicly as Lord and Savior, is essentially what occurs at confirmation. For adult converts, of course, all three sacraments of initiation -- baptism, confirmation, and Holy Communion -- can occur concomitantly.

Nothing that has to do with God is an "experience." It's an ever growing, life changing relationship with the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Sometimes people mistake an experience as being a life changing happening. Just because you feel goose bumps once and cry doesn't mean you truly know the Lord. Knowing is Lord is a daily thing that is on going. The more you know God's word and know him personally the more your life will change.

Man cannot crawl back into the womb even though he does try .Born again means of the spirit not the flesh , its an awakening like nothing else.We are born of the water of the flesh 1st , and the spirit is born again when we except Christ as our Savior and Lord

Read the book of John in the King James Version all the way thru.
You will get a blessing after you've read the whole thing. It may take you a few days or it might take you five hours. It all depends on you.

When you accpet Jesus Christ as your savior you will be blessed and feel the spirit of God, but it soon leaves and then your back to dealing with everyday life. You want that feeling back because you felt not a worry in the world.

So read the book of John and you will get that feeling back again and a blessing.

We are all born into sin, meaning no one is perfect. God gave us free will and the ability to choose between right and wrong, good and evil. When we are born again, we have recognized and believe with our whole hearts that Jesus Christ, is the Son of God, born of a virgin - He grew up, walked with us, talked with us, taught us, lived like us, cried, got angry, felt joy.......the difference is He was/is incapable of sin. Becuase He is the Son of God. He became the sacrificial lamb - an atonement of our sins. God said, you choose sin - here's a way out so you can still be mine. Jesus was sentenced to death on the cross. Crucified. After 3 days he arose again, perfect, whole, Holy - Believing in this with your whole heart and accepting it as truth is what being born again is. Yes, we will still sin as we are imperfect creatures, but we strive not to. We strive to live as Christ did - but in accepting God's ultimate gift of love, we have eternal life after death in the kingdom of heaven with Him.

The bible tells us that we must be born again to enter the Heaven. When I asked Jesus into my life and was really serious it was like the weight of the world was lifted off of my shoulders. I felt an inner peace that I had never experienced. I began to cry uncontrollably and they were not tears of regret or sadness they were just tears of praise.
