That's pretty gross. A better way to keep the drains clear is to pour baking soda and white vinegar down them now and then.

Urine is generally considered to be sterile. When it leaves the body, however, the urine can pick up bacteria from the surrounding skin, which would contaminate it. If he does it when he taking a shower, the water from the shower will "flush" it away.
Anyway, if you take a shower every day for 30 days peeing in the shower saves 48 gallons of water a month on a regular 1.6 gallon tank. I suppose you could not flush the toilet after peeing to save the same amount of water, but who wants to see pee water in the toilet?

I pee in my shower every morning. I dont think its gross, its MY shower and the water runs it down! I don't pretend there's any plumbing reason behind it though. I just admit to it.

I can't see what it would do. Most of the clogs in the drain are caused by hair in the drain. Urine doesn't digest hair, as far as I know.

No, not true. Even if pee is slightly acidic, once it's dilluted with all the water it won't make a difference.

Urine has no "drain cleaning" properties. Is, however, loaded with toxins, bacteria and a host of other dangerous things that shouldn't be spread on a shower floor. I hope he disinfects the shower with bleach when he is done! What's wrong with using the toilette first?

Perhaps he pees draino? If that's the case, then yes, his claim is true. Regular urine will not help tho.

I'm not sure but the acidity in the urine possibly could do that?! I never have a drainage problem though so it must work! Lol! :o)

Probably because pees is a little acid; I do it to save water.
