Why does Israel want their lost tribes back in their country? The world is moving on towards the ideal of multiculturalism (at least trying), but Israel wants their whole nation for their own tribes, isn't it a narrow minded thing to do?

I always proof-read my questions and answers when I post ANYTHING on here. Typos are understandable, but I once saw a kid spell capitol 'capidle'. On a regular basis I see horrible spelling mistakes, incorrect punctuation, run-on sentences, ect. Either some members on here are too young for the forums, or our education system in America is a disgrace.

Plz proof read ur comments b4 u post! Tx! :)

"IDENTIFYING THE PROPHET"

These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet?

This prophet was not one man, but a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses.

Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a "prophet" of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show? WT. 4/1/72 p 197 (see Deut. 18::21)

Here you go kids...WBTS is God's Prophet, by their own claim...and they are wrong, time and time again...WAKE UP Kids, and look at the Gospel.

There is so much proof that they believe that they alone are God's prophet. Can someone please help me understand this circular thinking?

Given there is evidence humanity has always had the desire to worship something (and animals do not, as far as I understand), where does this urge to worship a force more powerful than ourselves come from? Or is there real evidence to support the existence of a superior intelligence and power 'out there'?

I am Indian and thus I practice a combination of the Indian dharmic disciplines (Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism). If I could combine my religion with another religion I would choose to combine it with Kabbalah Judaism.

What about you???

A few years back in Tulsa, Ok a group of Christian students at a high school requested they be allowed to pray in school. The basis for this request was the fact that the Muslim students were allowed to pray multiple times a day, as required by their religion. The Christian students never received a reply one way or the other. That is until they decided to go ahead and pray. At that point they were taken into the office for discipline. This may seem like a small thing to anyone who is not a Christian, but it is definately discrimination. Now for those of you who are not schooled in the Bible, we are told to pray without ceasing. So this is as much a mandate of our religion as the Muslims praying 5 times a day.
Why is it wrong to discriminate against Muslims, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists, but okay to discriminate against Christians?
Christians are being judged by a few, and unfortunately those are generally the ones who are misbehaving.

For my World Religions class, one of our assignments is to attend a service from a religion that we weren't raised in. I could go to a Muslim, Hindu or Jewish service because we have those temples/mosques in our area. I am thinking about going to a Jewish service and I am wondering what to expect. Will I stick out like a sore thumb, is there a lot of interaction? Or can I sit in the back quietly and blend in? I'm really shy and I don't want any attention, I just have to observe. I don't want to call the place and ask them this question, because I'm shy. So I hope someone can tell me what to expect at the service? Thank you. :)

Are there people who can admit they might be wrong in their beliefes and actually accept listening to other view points, and not start to insult the one who has an opposite belief (like a religious person and an atheist)? Do you think you know the truth, or are you open minded enough to know that you don't know?

Catholics in church recite that they "believe in the resurrection of the dead."
Just what are they referring to? Are they talking about dead people coming out from their graves and walking again...
or are they talking about the spiritual essence of these people being felt and expressed by the living? For example, like channeling.

ok, never mind, make this is a rhetorical question. A few mins ago, I posed a question targeted at fellow Christians, like myself. A swarm of atheists landed on the question, and in their folly, tried to dissuade me from sharing some info with fellow Christians. My question was very specifically targeted, I would've imagined the expression "Christians have you..." have a very specific deictic function not so? Well, they then start with their ignoramous insults, attacks and anal blossoms... when in fact, we are the ones who make an effort to love them. We try to be charitable and PLEDGE to make an effort to be principled human beings, who make moral decisions and act with kindness and compassion. One'd imagine that *that* is something somewhat deserving of at least a little pat on the back! But as their sadness would have it, they simply HAVE to take a bite from the hand that feeds them...

Ever get put on the spot like that? What goes through your mind? Have you ever refused? Or does your family know you well enough not to even ask?

Atheists, what do you do when your extended family's patriarch/matriarch asks someone to pray? Would you show respect and bow your head, or would you find it hypocritical, and just start to eat while the rest of your family is praying?

Thanks for your thoughts
