Given that hunters where I live - or should I say men with guns - often shoot lifestock because they thought a cow or horse was a deer or moose or bear, it's probably pretty easy to mistake a hen harrier for a pheasant.

At least James Hewitt's Little Prince has proved to be made of sterner stuff Than Uncle Eddy... Two Harriers shot down on a single Sandringham sortie is pretty good going.

not that easy when they were never found,
how easy is it to say 2 hen harriers were shot down,
was it just to draw attention to the animal rights group & get in the papers ?

There are some around my element of Glasgow. I even have seen them taking pigeons in mid air.superb. Mankind ought to be completely ashamed at this. How dare they kill off those attractive hawks.

I think that people that are wandering around in the woods with guns will kill anything that moves. Shoot first, see if I got it right and we can eat it later.
