...would you consider one who called himself a Nietzschian superman to be arrogant? How is it any different from thinking you're "born again?"

Personally, I consider all ideas of being a "new man" to be silly.

I read a question on R&S in which someone asked whether God or evolution made more sense, and he argued in favor of evolution. Several people answered, saying that evolution had been guided by God. I hope some of those people will come here and elaborate. My question is this: If God had a hand in creating life, why did he choose a process as wasteful, inefficient, and cruel as evolution?

For every species that survives, many others go extinct. Various body parts, like the backbone in humans, often cause problems due to bad design. Human backbones, though similar to those of animals that walk on four legs, are vertical, leading to herniated discs and other problems. This seems to indicate that evolution is not a good tool for an intelligent designer to use. It also indicates that the supposed work of a perfect being contains all sorts of serious structural flaws, making his work identical to the results of blind evolution, removing the need for God as an explanation of life on Earth.

There are only two words defined by a single character. The f-word and the n-word. WHY is the “n” word so bad. Other races might get offended by stereotypical slang words, such as chink, g00k, honkey… but you don’t see them going as far as Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson (which is another subject entirely).

Other than the demeaning factor, what is so wrong with the n-word? I was watching “Blazing Saddles” just now, and the edited out that word, yet the word god-damned is still audible. If there is a racial divide, I blame Al Sharpton(Hypocrit), Jesse Jackson(Adulterer) and the media.

The question again is… What is so wrong with the n-word?

My ex husband comes by on Saturdays to pick up our small son. Now instead of using his cell phone, or ringing the door bell to let us know he's outside, he'll sit in his car and honk the horn....it's a pet peeve of mine and I was raised to learn it's just not the done thing!

I have told the ex to please stop doing it, as it's considered the hide of ignorance....he seems to think it's socially acceptable and doesn't understand my gripe about it....

I don't want my son to grow up thinking that when you honk the horn, people come running....

I'd like to know what others think.

A lot of believers (whatever your path may be) think that faith is a life long process. I believe this.

I also believe that spiritual perfection is possible while one is still alive here on earth. But the level at which one would have to live, in a spiritual sense, would also have to be nearly perfect. I think most of us will never get there from here.

But we try.

Most of us, I think, will fail. This is where Christ steps in and shores-up our spiritual shortcomings and takes us the rest of the way to perfection through God's grace.

This is my belief. I respect and identify with other paths, too. And I think those other paths may also believe that perfection is possible, but it requires a lifetime of awareness, intent, and service.

I've come to wonder about non-believers. Is that kind of cruicible too much to bear? Perhaps a non-believer may think "its so hard...why should I even bother?"

And to my question: non-believers, is the path to perfection just too hard?

When I was growing up around Christmas (maybe early 1960's), my parents would buy angel hair to decorate the Christmas tree. It was pretty to look at, but if you got it on your hands, it felt like glass. I think it was made out of fiberglass. I'm glad they don't use it nowadays.

I'm honestly so confused about the issue of music. There are so many who say it's haram and then there are scholars who say it's acceptable. What's your opinion?

My mother in law is on a fixed income with less than $800 coming in a month. She has a mortgage on her home and after bills there is very little left. The people who cite homeowners whose home is in disrepair are hassling her to have her gutters cleaned out, one put up, siding put up on the back of her house and her garage resided. We are helping as much as we can but with just my husband and son who have full time jobs there isn't enough time or money for that matter to get it done. Still they are harrassing her....is there any programs available where people volunteer to help the elderly out on repairs? Your help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I really forgot what it's called. It's a Christmas movie, and it's when one guy competes with all the neighbors to have the brightest, most decorated house. He wants it to be able to see on space from this website. He has twin daughters, and the mom is kind of weird. There neighbors are also not happy because they have a christmas light show every twenty minutes and also keeps them up.
I know this isn't a very good discriptive of the movie, but it you know, please answer. Thank you so much, have a great day.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!

Do you think those who have battled would be considered? For example, a modern one, those who have gone to war as a soldier but didn't die. They were injured so that they couldn't fight anymore. Do you think they would still be considered a warrior?
