God is certainly no solution. And faith in God is a huge problem. When one wants to find the solution to a problem or perhaps even define the problem, one observes and learns as much as possible about the situation. Then based on that, develops a course of action for resolution. Faith and God add absolutely nothing to this type problem resolution.

Having faith in God allows one to become deluded and ignore the reality of a situation. Thus situations are never truly understood and never resolved. Hate and war are 2 excellent examples.

Edit: And based on some of these answer, I can see my second observation is truer than I realized.

People are both the solution and the problem; faith in God, or lack of faith in God, is a matter of application, but the nature of problems/solutions emanates from the human hand and the human mind.

I am an Atheist, by the way, but I see no problem with a person's investment of faith, as long as it remains a positive contribution to the individual's life and does not supercede personal responsibility for that individual's conduct towards self and community.

God cannot be the problem, anymore than any other figment of the imagination can be the problem. It is the mindless people who need a god who are the problem. The solution is for people to accept responsibility for their lives, instead of depending on magical gods.

God is an idea...

Im being ambiguous intentionally so i can jump start some critical thinking =D, which doesn't actually answer the question but i think it will help you address it. After some pondering, the whole can world open up to you like a flower in springtime...

I don't think God has anything to do with either. But people who believe in supernatural causes, and solutions, certainly worry me.

Man is the problem and the solution. God, is just the universal spirit, who holds the universe together as one, and who can inspire and guide us. God wants us to positively contribute, to addressing the serious problem in this world, so our future will be better. We need to be open to the best and newest in spiritual ideas, if we are going to gain the spiritual strength and focus, needed to transform this world. Traditional religions, need to be updated with good fresh spiritual ideas, and training techniques.
