If you spoke to an American girl working at Verizon and she has a job and never heard of RI there is something seriously wrong with her! And on top of her incredible ignorance not to believe there is! Ei yi yi! My father was born there and my grandfather lived there until he died. It is called the ocean state, according to license plates and it is very small and located on the East coast.

How do you know she was American? A lot of companies outsource overseas and teach foreigners to speak with an American dialect. If by chance she was American. . . that's scary she didn't know Rhode Island is a state, but not surprising.

Quit lying you canadian. By the way...how is the weather in Quahog.
Finally, when companies off shore their call centers they make them pick western names to give the impression they are domestic. I talked to one once who chose the name "Cheese". I had her repeat it just to make sure.
