A lot of believers (whatever your path may be) think that faith is a life long process. I believe this.
I also believe that spiritual perfection is possible while one is still alive here on earth. But the level at which one would have to live, in a spiritual sense, would also have to be nearly perfect. I think most of us will never get there from here.
But we try.
Most of us, I think, will fail. This is where Christ steps in and shores-up our spiritual shortcomings and takes us the rest of the way to perfection through God's grace.
This is my belief. I respect and identify with other paths, too. And I think those other paths may also believe that perfection is possible, but it requires a lifetime of awareness, intent, and service.
I've come to wonder about non-believers. Is that kind of cruicible too much to bear? Perhaps a non-believer may think "its so hard...why should I even bother?"
And to my question: non-believers, is the path to perfection just too hard?

What's more difficult? To allow yourself to be brain-washed into a comma and believe everything your pastor tells you? Or to question everything and sort truth from fiction?
There is NOTHING easy about disbelief.

Having Faith plays a huge role in ones salvation. If you don't have Faith how can you believe in anything. It is a life long process to believe that God is real. I being of Christian Faith trust in God and in His promises made through Christ and the Scriptures by which man is justified and or
saved. I don't agree with you that Spiritual perfection is possible while one is here on this Earth as a human. Know one is perfect,we are all of sinful nature.
Yes, we do try.
I know I would definitely fail and ''God willing'', Jesus would shore up my shortcomings. When I die, I must first enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to distruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it.

You know I am a christian. I do not categorize myself to a Religion domination. I believe we are on a path in which we are striving to become perfected. I don't believe we are in anyway capable of reaching it. Sin is so interwoven within our nature we are not even aware of it's magnitude. We are in sin within ourselves individually and generally speaking as a race of people. It is a broad spectrum. By grace alone are we saved that none should boast it says in the Bible. If you consider the Gospels and the churches they were written to in their time....the people were a total mess....we aren't far behind think what we may. True we only have one to worry about, but if we are on the path we must try to help others because faith without works is dead. It is so simple and yet so difficult just because of our sinful nature....we just can't seem to help it. Paul would say what he wanted to do he wouldn't and what he didn't want to do that was what he was doing. and he walked so close with Jesus....I don't think we are above that?? I'm not. All we can do is trust in Jesus and acknowledge he is our only way to salvation and try to grow in our spiritual walk and have the faith he is able to do the rest. Anyway this is what I believe. Everyone is entitled to their own and I respect that.

I don't know why anyone would seek perfection when there's so much just-plain-good stuff that's actually achievable.
But no, that's not why I'm an atheist. It's just not possible to believe the things that I'd be expected to believe if I were to profess any form of religious faith. I'm not able to tell myself, "There's no evidence, the arguments aren't convincing, some of the apologists are creepy and many of their teachings are downright abhorrent; but, oh, I really really really want it to be true therefore I'm gonna believe it."

There is no perfection. In Christianity, only God is perfect. If you don't believe in God, "perfect" is very idealistic and subjective to cultures.
I have never seen a shred of evidence that God exists, and the burden of proof lies on the believers.
Faith, incidentally, means nothing but "believe something without proof".
I think that, once you can convince yourself that God exists, it's a very easy path. If something goes wrong, pray. Explain everything with God. To them, religion is a cure-for-all; they rely on it for EVERYTHING. They've given up thinking for themselves.

Prayer is not done with the tongue; it's done with the heart. So many people think it's hard because they pray for something to HAPPEN or be GRANTED.
A true prayer is one in which the person asks God for a change of attitude to take place in themself, not the other way around.
God's attitude is already perfect. That won't change because some fanatic doesn't like what God grants and expects God to change something about himself or His decisions.
God is not a cosmic bellhop.

If perfection could be reached in our lifetime, Jesus would not have needed to die for our sins. For all have sinned and come short of the glory. Perfection is a life-long journey but we will never, ever reach the goal until Jesus, by his grace, makes us perfect when we stand in his sight.

I believe that non-believers just see no evidence of a supreme deity. It is exactly that simple.
I also believe that they see so much hate and ignorance spread using the bible as justification they are just disgusted with a 'god' that could be so evil.
I say God is not that biblical monster.

It's just too easy. Believers think it's a cure-all and they rely on it for everything. That's why they're impossible to deal with.--They've given up on thinking.
