Shane...Can you actually READ?

"And IF thou say in thine heart, HOW SHALL WE KNOW the word which the LORD hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shall not be afraid of him" (Deut. 18: 21, 22).
Notice: There are only two points to consider to "know" a false prophet: (1) Does he speak in the name of the LORD? (2) Did the thing predicted fail to come to pass?

The Watchtower Society's claim to be Jehovah's Prophet.

"More accurately, was there any group on whom Jehovah would be willing to bestow the commission to speak as a 'prophet' in His name, as was done toward Ezekiel back there in 613 B.C.E.? (The Watchtower, 3-15-72, p. 189). "It is of importance to every individual on earth to identify the group that Jehovah has commissioned as his 'servant' or messenger.... For this reason for

forthcoming issues of The Watchtower will further discuss the identity and work of Jehovah's commissioned messenger as revealed in His vision to Ezekiel" (The Watchtower, 3-15-72, p. 190). "So, does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? ...This 'prophet' was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah's Christian witnesses... Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a 'prophet' of God. It is another thing to prove it. The only way that this can be done is to review the record. What does it show? (The Watchtower, 4-1-72, p. 197). "The scroll was doubtless delivered to Ezekiel by the hand of one of the cherubs in the vision. This would indicate that Jehovah's witnesses today make their decisions.

The WT Society claims to be the only channel of communication, and all the followers have to accept it or you are n longer JW. People do not realize that they can serve true Jesus outside of their organization. They are so afraid to lose all the merit what they have been gaining by door to door work etc.

Destructive criticism has name to fit him/her. Very destructive.

They are NOT followers of Christ though the church leaders profess to be. They consider themselves to be God's only chosen religion and the bearer's of his truth yet they have said on several occasions in the past that the world is coming to an end which never happened and then changed their story. Many people have given up their jobs and homes and plans for a family because of this only to find out it was a lie. How can they be the bearers of God's truth and not get that right?
They tell members you cannot vote, join any political party or Armed Forces, pledge allegiance, have birthday parties or celebrate Christmas, Easter, Mother's Day, Father's Day, give or receive life-saving blood transfusions..even if your child's or family member's life is in danger, and if you or a family member are disfellowshipped, no one in your family or JW friends can have anything to do with you....ever. They have some of the highest percentage of mental health issues. Only 144,000 of it's members will ever attain heaven as the "anointed" ones. You are required to go out every month and try to sell tracts to raise money for the church and records are kept so if you don't, you can be disfellowshipped.

I have seen first-hand some of the problems that members go through and the fears that they suffer with. Most of them are good, ordinary people and deserve better.

It might be more accurate to say the Wt.Soc claimed [past tense] to be God's only modern-day prophet (in 1972, to bolster its authority for having claimed 1975 would see the end of 6,000 years of man's existence on earth and the start of the Millennial rule of Christ; Armageddon sandwiching both events).

They quickly dropped that claim after 1975 and have succeeded in convincing post-75 converts that they never did claim to be Jehovah's modern-day prophet. They won't dare claim to be this again until THAT generation of converts are more or less dead.

God raises up individuals to tell forth his word at His discretion, and at His chosen time. There is no one group / class / denomination that can claim to be His modern-day prophet. Those that do are invariably pseudo-Christian groups on a power-trip.

Hey Unsilenced Lamb, do you think this "governing body" you talk about ever come here and read what's being said about them??? Because you speak truth............I was wondering if they are having LOT'S of meetings with their lawyers. You know, many people now know how much murder-suicide has been committed.

EDIT: I'm suspicious they practice some kind of "spirit magic" that is not of God's teachings.

The Watchtower does not claim to be a prophet. A prophet prophecies, JW's based on Bible understanding only try to understand the prophecies given.
