according to the bible, it's a sin for a man to spill his seed anytime other than when engaged in intercourse with a woman, because it's killing all of the would be babies.

1) is it a sin for a woman to masturbate, because this has nothing to do with preventing life from starting?

2) is menstration a sin, because it is the act of discarding unfertalized eggs, therefore preventing a life from starting?

i asked this yesterday but some people found it offensive and got it deleted, which is silly, so i'm asking it again because i didn't get to read all of the answers.

According to a person looking out from the outside. Adam and Eve sinned. they asked for forgiveness but they didnt get any. they then got sent to earth to be punished for their sin and God waited many moons before sending in the ONLY source of salvation for mankind.

So: my question is: How is God seen as merciful when the only source of salvation for mankind came AGES after Adam and Eve?

And how is God a being of Mercy if Jesus was the only person who could ask for forgiveness on behalf of mankind?

You know, to be quite honest, I am sick of seniors being major priorities in political campaigns. senior housing, seniors incomes, etc etc etc. seniors are not our future, they leave us paying incredible hospital taxes because they feel the need to go in every monday to chat about they're lasted aliment to their doctor. baby boomers are going to leave us in financial misery because there are so many of them and they will eat up our health care like theres no tomorrow. it's apparent most have a soft spot for seniors, yes they are old and cute, but why are things like education, sustainable housing, etc (i.e. current, pressing issues) at the focal points of political agendas?

Do you feel it is appropriate for Christian TV to sell hormone cremes, nutritional shakes, and bee pollen-type products?

Where does Christianity really begin and end today in America?

Many of our local radio stations go through this every year. Station managers want Christmas music to start the day after Thanksgiving. The majority of listeners say it's too soon. Personally, I'd rather not hear them until about 3 weeks before Christmas. What's your opinion?

We were discussing news last night about a teacher who had an affair with a 16 year old girl. Now, personally I think teachers who do this violate the trust not just of the parents and fellow teachers, but of students much younger than they. I also know some teens who would go into such a relationship with eyes wide open, and they'll admit they knew exactly what they were doing, because when we're that age you know we think we know it all. Yet someone finds out and the teacher spends the rest of his life in prison. Hubby expressed the view that the teacher should spend a reasonable time in jail, maybe 5 years, with 10 - 20 years probation. Do you think a man should go to jail for life for this type of relationship?

I don't really remember the scripture about divorcing but Jesus did say you can under certain reasons. So my question is if you commit adultery, you can divorce your spouse (the one who cheated). But now it doesn't say only by physcial touch, so even looking at another/lusting after them you can put them away. Do you agree?

The books are about a substance called "Dust" that the magesterium (church) sees as the source of origional sin that settles on people once their daemon takes on a permanent form. So, they try to "save" the children by cutting away their daemons, which of course leaves them as mindless drones (sheeple) . Lyra, the main character in the book, through out her journey discovers that Dust is not evil but the finest particles of the Universe that comes to those that mature and learn to reason (know good from evil) .

Thus from the way I understand it, Eating the apple wasn't a bad thing,....it was actually a very good thing.

The author of the books is an atheist and it helps to read the books from that point of view to understand exactly what is being said. I think the books helps point out the flaws with "origional sin" type of thinking and the perverted power the "magisterium" can have over people.

Does anyone agree? Thoughts?

and thank you Terra.

First of all I am Christian but I am a thinking Christian, I believe God gave me a mind of my own to look at the world and question, and He rejoices in my search for the truth so please no comments about how I am not a "true Christian".

Lets all get on the same page here, can we agree that Heaven has no clock meaning a moment in heaven is equal to 100 years on earth. With that being said lets start with Evolution, I watched a very good documentary called "Friends of God" on HBO and in the movie children were being taught that Evolution never happened, as a human with more than a 1st grade education I know this is ignorant. The Bible says that God created heaven and earth in 6 days but seeing as we have already established that heaven has no clock could the 6 days really be millions of years? And through those millions of years God created dinosaurs, and all of the things that Christians have come to discredit?

There is more so please do not answer yet.

But, if we were all just a cosmic accident and are all here by chance and when we die nothing happens then whats the point of being here. If you really stop an think about it that would'nt make any type of sense. I mean if thats the case why go to work, why not just run around all day doing whatever you want ( some people do lol) and not have to suffer any back lash. Im not saying people have to believe in God thats your choice but, just think about it

Matthew 18:9 is one that I see totally misinterpreted. It is often rediculed by non-believers.What it is actually talking about is a church member being cast out Matthew 18:15-17, not someones actual eye.

"And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: it is better for thee to enter into life with one eye, rather than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire." Matthew 18:9

"For the body is not one member, but many.
If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of the body; is it therefore not of the body?
If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were hearing, where were the smelling?
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.'' 1 Corinthians 12:14-18
