According to a person looking out from the outside. Adam and Eve sinned. they asked for forgiveness but they didnt get any. they then got sent to earth to be punished for their sin and God waited many moons before sending in the ONLY source of salvation for mankind.

So: my question is: How is God seen as merciful when the only source of salvation for mankind came AGES after Adam and Eve?

And how is God a being of Mercy if Jesus was the only person who could ask for forgiveness on behalf of mankind?

Also, what kind of religion limits Gods mercy on the existence of someone else: Jesus.

First of all, God did forgive adam and eve, but that doesnt mean they get away with what they did. where in the bible does it say they asked God to forgive them? it doesnt. they were sorry for what they did, but God told them that they could live in perfect harmony with nature and eat from ANY tree they wanted, EXCEPT one tree! they ate from that one tree!!!! out of thousands of other trees! people make the mistake of thinking that the garden of eden was small like an acre or something, but it was actually more like a state! the CHOSE to eat from that tree, and God clearly told them that if they did, they would die(which, in this context means to be banished from the garden and Gods prescience). God still watched over them and made sure that they had plenty of food and they lived for a very long time. but they had to have some punishment, God is merciful, but he is also just. God did provide a way for Adam and eve to have salvation! read the bible in the new testament! it's all there! When Jesus came, he became the only way, the truth and the life. how can you say that he is not a merciful God when he made the world around you and everything in it??? he created you! he loves you! and the reson that Jesus was the only person who could ask for forgiveness on behalf of mankind, is because he was the only one that was perfect, because he was fully God and fully man. Does it make sense? not really! but thats what faith is! he created the world around you and he created you! have you ever taken biology? do you realize how complex the human body is? do you really think that a huge explosion of chemicals could have possibly made the human body? Scientists have already disproved evolution! they still teach it in schools though! or do you think that God made the earth and the people in it, and then just sat back and watched? no, God says that there is not a sparrow that falls from the sky that He does not know about, and that we are so much more important to him than the sparrows. he never leaves us, but sometimes we run away. but he is always there to pick us up when we fall. Hope this answers your question :)
God bless!!!

All men from Adam and Eve have been given the opportunity to receive salvation. Salvation comes by belief in the Messiah and calling upon his name. Adam and Eve taught their children this message this is seen in their son Seth who began to "Call on the Name of the Lord." (Genesis 4:25-26)
So it is because you have error in your understanding of salvation that you feel this way.
This is what happened with Cain who brought the sacrifice of his own thinking. It was not the sacrifice that God commanded him to bring like his brother Abel brought. Men have been doing their own thing since and this error has brought murder, death and judgment of Hell. Because if men would just listen to God and call on the name of the Lord (Jesus Christ) then would all be saved.

John 3:16 (King James Version)

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

The prophecy of Jesus Christ was in Genesis 3:22(Tree Of Life) God Bless You and seek Jesus....
Gen 3:22 ¶ And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever:

Adam and Eve received forgiveness, I don't know where you got the idea that they didn't. But it was based on the comming "seed of the woman" (Christ) as was all forgiveness before the crucifixion. The OT speaks much of God's mercy, long before Christ Died.

Yes... and you will not get any mercy from God... As far as God goes... He is warming up a Sulfuric burning Hell fire to sizzle you for eternity and for ever and ever... Only Jesus saves! As a minister of God's Word I can tell you the truth in the Bible... You take it or you leave it!

Get your facts straight: Adam and Eve were on Earth when they sinned, not sent to it after they sinned. The earth was originally created perfect, sin brought the imperfection and death into it.

Jesus is God so it is his mercy only that counts. and God gave mercy to people before Jesus was on earth you should read about Abraham he was counted righteous by God before Jesus was on earth. anyone who believed God ,and believed that God would send a redeemer would have been counted as righteous.

God is merciful. That is why HE sent his only son down to earth to die for us so that our sins are forgiven. YEs, through Jesus we have mercy as well as He loves us too.

BEcause Jesus died for us and our sins are forgiven, we can hence thereforth have a closer relationship with God, as that barrier (our sins) are removed.

No, John 3:14 - 21 tells us belief in Moses, Mohammed, Smith, etc..., or the belief in God the Father, Allah, Buddha, Jehovah, etc... is enough to get us into heaven.
Our own personal works will decide if we stay in heaven and at what level, or are we the least (hell) in heaven.

God was also merciful to Noah and the rest of the world when he said that he would never flood the earth again, he saved noah and his family. there are many other acts of mercy in the bible, too many to count. Do some research, and next time, read BEFORE you judge, okay?
