I keep repeating a certain sin and it is becoming easier and easier to do it? I feel like I can't repent right away because if I keep commiting the sin, I haven't really repented, have I?

ask for forgiveness anyway...
we sin everyday...that's way God gave us GRACE...
don't let thins keep you from your relationship with God...just pray that the desire be taken from you...
and dont beat yourself up over it...God knows the desires of our hearts...
and he wont put anything on us that we can not bear...
you are being tested and tried like gold....
gold has impurities untill its put through the fire and tested to get them all out...
that's what life is about failing and getting back up with our heads up telling the devil to get "get behind us in Jesus name!!"
in the end we will be pure as gold tried by God!

Sin takes you farther than you wanted to go and keeps you longer than you wanted to stay.

As you continue in sin, your conscience slowly becomes "seared" until it no longer bothers you to sin. When you reach that point, you can NOT repent because there is no more conviction of sin.

I've been given an illustration that the conscience is like a triangular shaped cog next to the heart, and every time you sin it spins, thus "pricking" the heart. But if you don't do anything about it, the corners start wearing down until it no longer makes contact with your heart as it madly spins in place.

The Bible says "Seek the LORD WHILE HE MAY BE FOUND, call upon Him WHILE HE IS NEAR. Let the wicked FORSAKE his ways, and the unrighteous man his thoughts, and let him return unto the LORD and to our God, and He will abundantly pardon."

Note the phrases "while He may be found" and "while He is near".

What you must do, do quickly!

One additional comment:

Go watch the movie "The Passion" by Mel Gibson, and when you see the whip and the crown of thorns and the nails, remember it's YOUR sin that's doing that! Get a perspective of just how wicked your sin is and what it cost God to redeem you!

Remove anything that will enable you to continue this sin. Realize that is is a SIN and that the wages of sin, is death. Pray. Pray and ask God to help you stop, every time you feel tempted sincerely pray. And once you stop repeating this sin, you will be stronger and closer to God--which is what you want. Don't repent until you are ready to stop sinning period.

You need to pray/meditate, do mind-body exercises, eat healthy, not overindulge, and look for good inspration. Habit are formed by repetition. You need a more moral replacement, for the habit that is wrong. Or if you can't replace what you are doing, upgrade to a more moral level the action, what you are doing poorly at. Hard work may be required, but if you do the things I mentioned above, you should get tough enough. Correction is required, in order to properly repent.

First of all figure out whether it really is a sin or not. If you are talking about playing with yourself, it isn't a sin--religious idiots just want you to think that way. There is nothing to repent for, just open your eyes to a religion that wants to control you.

if u feel comfortable doing this sin, u have let the devil win. repent and pray that u wont be misled when it comes to doing it again. sounds like this sin is sex. if it is, u should not put urself in a situation where it could happen. god wont keep forgiving u for the same sin, especially if u know u are doing wrong. when we know better we do better.

No you haven't. Hopefully you will soon come to a point of realization. You already know what the right thing to do.

Proverbs 28:13 (New International Version)

13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper,
but whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

John 8:34-36 (New International Version)
New International Version (NIV)

34 Jesus replied, "I tell you the truth, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

You must be firm, if what you call a sin is something you really wish to do away with then find out what, who and how you get to commit the act, then if you are determined to do what is right, begin to avoid those things and people who are your accomplices
