Why is he courting other church leaders' endorsements, but none of his own?

that's because the Mormon church believes in separation of church and state. they are politically neutral and members can vote for who ever they want. It seems like the Mormon church is the only church that believes in the laws of the land. We have never used church buildings or resources in politics and we shouldn't.

He is not ashamed, just trying to hide his belief system, so that he can be elected.

He is attempting to let the Christian right know he is their best option for indoctrinating the country.

It will be interesting to see if he succeeds.

Personally, I hope Rudi gets the nod, at least he is reasonable, and has real leadership experience during crisis.

Romney is in a cult, because Mormonism is a cult that leads to eternal hell. He has to downplay it.
