yeah, i know he broke us away from the catholic church, but he tried to convert everyone to what he believed. when the Jews wouldn't convert he said (exact words you can look it up yourself) "put them all in their synagogues and burn them". wow what a great guy, huh? i'm a Christian, but every time i hear someone mention Martin Luther, I cringe. but all others are like "look what he did for the church", screw the church, he hated people because they didn't believe like him. the more i think about it, the more i don't want to be like him. how come everybody thinks he's so wonderful?

As Japanese working on Saturdays and Sundays, I can't join any Church or otherwise end up feeling isolated (because I can join the Sunday service just once a month or every second month)
I found a Catholic church I could join early morning on weekdays...when I went there for the first time, I felt accepted by the people there.
It was the first time for me to go to a Catholic church and some things I saw there were quite new to me.
Is it okay to go to Catholic church and remain protestant? Should I become a Catholic believer?

I sang this song as a child (from a cd) and now want my S.S. class to sing it, but can't remember most of it.
Here's what I know...

Ring, ring the christmas bells
Happy children we love to tell of
The love that spreads throughout the earth
When we sing of the Savior's birth

Down south you hear the call, "Hallelujah, God love's Ya'll"
Up north, it's no surprise when you hear that God loves you guys

........
The English maiden was quick to say, "He's the light of the world today"
....

that's all I remember. ANY IDEAS?!? It's a pretty fast song, and it has all the accents with all the different places around the world.

Will you go to heaven? Here's a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or taken God's name in vain? Will you be guilty on Judgement Day? If you have done these things, God sees you as a liying, thieving, blasphemor. The bible says if you are guilty you will end up in hell. That isn't God's will for you. He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for your sins. Jesus took your punishment upon Himself: "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus, and God will grant you eternal life. Then read the bible daily and obey it.

I hope that the Yahoo! Answers people will not delete this post because in the first place this is a valid question. I know that many JWs here will be furious with this question but please be considerate and let the public answer. The JW Governing Body predicted the following dates and failed a reason why thousands of JWs around the world left their movement in dismay.

1. 1874 - failed
2. 1878 - failed
3. 1881 - failed
4. 1910 - failed
5. 1914 - failed
6. 1918 - failed
7. 1920 - failed
8. 1925 - failed
9. 1975 - failed
10. 2000 - failed

The JWs will reason that even the disciples asked Jesus as to when the prophecy concerning the last days will take place. (See Luke 21:7) Excuse me. But the disciples asked the question and not prophecy by means of date setting just like what the JW Governing Body did for many years. Before the JW people here petition for the removal of this question, I hope that you will be considerate enough to understand the validity of my question. Think about it.

Israel has been killing and torturing thousands of Palestinians and theyve been taking more and more of their land..gets me thinking maybe if Iran had Nukes it would slow down the brutal and inhumane treatment the Israelies are dishing out to the Palestinians
how is it fair for Israel to bully the whole middle east with their nuclear prowess, while all of the others are sitting completely helpless, if the western world is so scared of the Arabic middle east becoming armed with nukes, then disarm Israel and stop helping them slaughter the Palestinians, our Zionist owned news's media keeps harping on suicide bombers, while Israel stays back 20 miles or so and sends in American made missiles to kill and maim them ,
then call them cowards, some thing is damned sure wrong with this picture!!!!!!!
Imagine Native Americans take the USA and wed all be forced to move to Canada and Mexico...this isnt fair!

I saw a few responses to some other questions where I asked about the possibility of the existence of other gods. A lot of my christian fellows said that you are not supposed to worship other gods, etc.

I'm not concerned about who is right or wrong in their beliefs etc. I'm simply asking if acknowledgement is the same as worship.

I do not believe it is. To me worshipping other gods and goddesses is devotion to them.

Other folks believe in their gods and goddesses as strongly as Christians believe in YHWH. So is acknowledging that there is a possibility that their deity exists? You cannot prove or disprove it so why not just accept it?

Your thoughts?

Hello everyone. I am a religious man that is learning more and more about life. My mind is starting to open as I am having a "metal growth spurt" if you will. In my "openess" I am seeing things differently. Not that I am straying from my religion, but I am certianly seeing things in a different light. (I think) I can tell that a lot of my christian friends are seeing things more in the box, and I am not. Yes, I will never leave my faith, but I know I am seeing certian things that they are not seeing. At any rate, I wanted to know, to all my fellow christians out there, "can your mind be to open?" I am starting to think it can not.. If possible, I would love an answer, and not a typical "christianese" answer. Your best thoughts. Thanks

Please do read *at least one* of the links I provide *before* answering unless you are already clinically aware of the condition.

Too many people seem to think it's not a real question. It's obvious they didn't bother to check my links or even do a web search on their own before they answered, and now it's so far down the list no one even sees it anymore.

Thanks.

now theres an oxymoron if i'v ever heard one.

so wtf? he is all loving, but he sees that the all loving thing to do on judgement day is to kill everyone that doesnt yet believe in him, even though they havent lived out their full lives in which they may eventually believe.
this doesnt seem very loving or smart to me, what do you think?

i would like to be enlightened please!
