30 years the first time around. Have been living with my dear partner for 5 years now, and just yesterday we booked a small wedding in January. Everybody thinks its very romantic for us old codgers to tie the knot.....most people I know in this situation, don't do it because they lose pension money as a couple. But my partner is an old fashioned romantic, and has worn me down !

It'll be a good excuse to get our kids together in one place, and to dress up a bit. I'm looking forward to it.

Thank you so much for your kind words and wishes. We've been married 19yrs today. We had family telling us we wouldn't last and Bj's mother was the worst one coz after our first anniversary she said we had a long way to go yet!!! Our first year was definately the hardest for a lot of reasons but the main one was due to me being made disabled after an accident at work just 2 months after our wedding! We made a pact that if we argued we'd not go to bed on it, we talk about everything and make sure we are both happy with decisions that have to be made...from money to the kids etc., that we would always have respect for each other and each others feelings, we say "I love you" everyday and that every day spent together is full of blessings. The years have gone by quickly and we see each other as we did when we first got married despite looking a whole lot different today lol.....wrinkles, grey hair, false teeth etc., One of our favourite sayings is "Love you more today than yesterday but not as much as tomorrow".

When the 19th of December rolls around I'll have been married for 45 years. But it doesn't feel that long. It seems
more like maybe 25 until I see how our grandson has grown. We have another one out there somewhere, who is
18. And I sure wish we could find him.
We had two children, a girl first and then a boy two years
later. I would sure like to see the courthouse in person that
we were married in back in S. Carolina. How romantic it
seemed to me then, just seeing the moss covered trees
in the front as we mounted the stairs to the entrance.
I hope I can make it til our 50th. That would make me feel
I'd really accomplished something major in life. Since I can't
leave any legacy, that's the best I can do. So I'll hope for the
best and maybe a miracle drug.

Southern Comfort - LOL! I'm in the same boat.

18 years the first time. He never got it right.
15 years the second time. He had different view of how many people constitute a marriage.
Almost 2 years this time. Time will tell....if for some reason this doesn't work out, there will not be a 4th.
