Will you go to heaven? Here's a quick test. Have you ever told a lie, stolen anything, or taken God's name in vain? Will you be guilty on Judgement Day? If you have done these things, God sees you as a liying, thieving, blasphemor. The bible says if you are guilty you will end up in hell. That isn't God's will for you. He sent His Son to suffer and die on the cross for your sins. Jesus took your punishment upon Himself: "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life." Then He rose from the dead and defeated death. Please, repent (turn from sin) today and trust in Jesus, and God will grant you eternal life. Then read the bible daily and obey it.

I am a good person and I do not need religion to help me with that.
Secondly there are MANY verses in the bible that are against the LAW. If you truly read the bible you would have realized that.
Exodus 21:7 and Exodus 35:2 are two examples of breaking the law if you were to follow these passages from the bible.

This is an answers site - you are supposed to ask a question you don't know the answer to and see what information other people can offer you on the subject.

This is NOT a pulpit.

Now go away.

I love how atheists always claim they are "good" - helping the poor, donating to charitable works, on the boards of many philanthropic endeavors, running homeless shelters for puppies, etc.

And yet we all know - even the very best among us has faults, weaknesses, struggles. And man oh man - how good are we at excusing, justifying, defending, rationalizing our every action - and yet, condemning those exact same behaviors in other people.

No, the Holy Scripture is right - there is no one good, no not one. We all need a Savior.

Praise the Lord He is good so I don't have to be!

I'm constantly amazed by the delusional capabilities of you Jesus freaks. Do you really believe all that garbage, or do you just spout it because your Jesus freak masters told you to?

Is there any reason that I should consider that the bible is a trustworthy source of information about god or or that a god exists?

I'm a person

I do my best

I love my son and my husband

I don't think I'm better or worse than any other person

Any good I do is because I choose to do it, any bad I do is because I choose to do it

I don't believe in God or a holy book but will keep doing my best simply because it's the right thing to do, to me.

Which bits should we obey? How about the bit about burning the settee if we sit on it while menstruating and if anyone touches us we're to ritually bathe and no one return to their home before evening?

Or if my sons happen to annoy me, I'll take them out and kill them?

Or if I see a man who I think is handsome, I'll rip out my eye?

Or maybe the bits about not spreading fear and being tolerant. Hmm it's tricky isn't it?

I'm born good, but my life's journey exposed me to some bad realities in life. And I'm quick in asking for HIS forgiveness and mercy, always, everytime I made mistakes.

God, no! I am not a good person!

Actually that's a lie...I am a good person.

Except I just lied.

And blasphemed.

And stole 2 points.
