Why do I seem to always end up sitting right next to table-thumping keyboard bashers, EVERY TIME !!! Or am I just oversensitive?

I once had a girlfriend who was Christian.

I myself am an atheist. So I did tell her that the Bible and God was a bunch of lies.

She ofcourse got very mad at me for mocking God.

Later she gave me a chance to explain to her why Christianity was fake.

Well I successfully converted her to an atheist.

Later I asked her why she decided on becoming a Christian and she told me she thought the church was beautiful so she wanted to be a Christian O_o

What I am saying is that there are lots of Christians all over the world but more than 80% (atleast) have silly reasons for being one and very easy to convert such as my girl friend.

Therefore claiming that there are a lot of Christians all around the world as a point of proving Christianity's validity is not all so accurate after all.

What do you Christians think?

And God said their time has not yet come.God told me remember every knee shall bend and say Jesus Christ is Lord.So that meant to me .Whosoever believes in Jesus shall not perish but have everlating Life.

Honest question, and I am looking for a honest answer that

christians = trinity concept.
So if trinity concept fail to defend then
christians will merge with Judaism
else
logic will fail.

No need a copy from Bible please, just your thought.

I was raised to believe that we go to heaven if we're good and hell if we're bad. And I struggle with the thought that once we die, we die and that's it. What are your beliefs or experiences? There are no wrong answers here. Just wondering what other people believe or if you've had a near death experience, feel free to share it!

Background Info: I was recently at a joint religious conference with my congregation and another one. I am Episcopalian and the other congregation was S. Baptist.

Anywho: My priest and a minister got into a debate on Christianity. My priest was very respectful to what the minister had to say and truly listened to what he had to say. He took awhile before answering so that he could think out his answers, etc.
The evangelical minister though was not so respectful, though. He was very uppitty like his beliefs were the right beliefs and he did not need to listen to or even consider someone else's view point.

Why are Evangelicals like this? Is it because you know you're right and everyone else is wrong? Why is there no dialogue with you guys? Are you guys just THAT sure that you have the one and only truth and anyone else who has a different view point is going straight to hell no questions asked?

His message is this. To My followers in Christ: Rejoice as if it were your first day in the light of life for the time is near. I grant unto thee power on Earth as disciples of the Lamb lest ye remember to cast away rightgeousness. If thoust tounge be muddled can thou be heard? Be as a choir in the Word and I will hear thee. I say unto thee rejoice for the time is indeed near. To those who speak not of Me I say closeth thou mouth lest I blot thy name out of the Book Of Life. To those of the Synagogue of Satan I write unto thee with a heavy heart for I love thee. Yet you refuse to bask in the light of the rightgeous and instead dwell in the docimile of the wicked. I say unto thee repent now for the time is near. Blessed are those that bask in the light of the Lamb for it can never be extingished. I come with thunder and lighting and every eye shall see Me. Blessed be they who know me for they shall walk with me in heaven on that very day. I am the Light and the Life.Amen

Now living in America you hear of too many cases of child abuse relating to religion (such as a priest molesting children). Now I am not a Christian and always make a point to curse them when I hear of such a case, but is this a problem that spans the globe? Do you hear of Bhudist Monks molesting children over in Asia? Or a Muslim Priest doing the same over in the middle-east? Or a Shintao Monk in Japan?

Please no debates on why your religion is better, just an answer to the question.

Personally I feel there is no punishment harsh enough for anyone who commits such a crime!

Scientist have discovered a large mass revolving around our black hole in the center of the Milky way. It is made up of antimatter It seems to be sucking in all the antimatter of the galaxy. Dr. Elmore Shanks a noted Astronomer from the Space Administration has dubbed it a white hole. He says when matter and antimatter collide they destroy each other. This is what some bealive caused the big bang. It is unknown how long the two holes of matter and antimatter have been revolving around each other. If the delicate balance of gravity keeping them in orbit should fail they would be sucked together like two great vacuums. If this should happen the entire universe may be destroyed. Neither Heaven nor Hell would have a chance of survival Dr Shanks explained?

My friend and I were conversing about how atheists title themselves as "atheists".
My friend said without religion, atheists wouldnt exist.

I couldn't help but agree...

the root word in atheist is "theist," therefore if there were no theists, there would be no atheists....

However, we would still be in existance... so we would be called "people"?

would you agree?? disagree??? Why?

I answered a question a couple weeks ago which asked what people thought god looked liked. Most people said that god didn't have an image(I'm not talking about Christ) and that they just viewed him as a very warm and comforting energy. So that got me thinking Do you? and if, so why do you think we give it a gender?(maybe that's not a very accurate word to use).

Jewish men wear certain items that set them apart from gentiles and others... A Christian man or woman might wear a WWJD bracelet or a cross. Islamic women certainly stand out because of their veils and Hindu men often wear turbans.... So, what sets apart an atheist...? Is there anything at all ?
