Melchisedech, 'priest of the most high God', was the king of Salem and offered bread and wine to Abraham (Gen 14:18) and thus prefigures the Last Supper where Christ institutes the Sacrament. The ritual of the Mass, where bread and wine are consecrated and changed in the body and blood of Christ is the re-enactment of both Christ's sacrifice and the offering of bread and wine by Melchisedech.

The minor orders, including the tonsure, no longer exist and were removed following the Second Vatican Council. Only the major orders have been retained. When a priest is ordained, he is ordained a 'priest according to the order of Melchisedech' because he too will offer the bread and wine at each Mass for consecration. The minor orders you list would only exist in Tridentine religious societies that operate their own seminaries such as the Society of Ss Peter and Paul or the Society of Pope St Pius X.

I cannot answer all your questions satisfactorily. I suggest you look it up in the Code of Canon Law, under the title of Holy Orders. Here is the link.

Added: Jesus M, why don't you post your comments so that we can answer them properly? Anything can be attacked using fallacy. Proving your allegation is quite another thing.

To the deceived, to those who wants to be deceived.......

The Lord Jesus fulfilled the priesthood after the order of Melchizedek - so don't think so highly of yourself that you may ALSO fulfill His offices.
