Why should I trust any of their followers?

yes, it does. the apostles, and jesus, for that matter all worked and provided for themselves. that is just one difference that you can see from todays's so called priests, reverends, fathers, etc.

all of us were invited to priesthood by God either u hav a degree or PHD for theology it doesnt matter. Peter was only a fishermen with no greater education then a second grader. Matthew formerly known as Levi is a sinful tax collector. Jesus invited Him to let go of everything and follow Him to preach the truth and make disciples of all nations. Easily to say we are all priest and evangelist in the eye of God. there is no such thing as you claim in the bible. Do not twist the truth of God. For God is slow in anger , great in power. You don't wana make Him mad. Read the whole book of Amos and u'll noe i'm telling you the truth.

I would have to read all the different versions of the Bible,(more than 50 in English alone) to find out !

All of the apostles were priests. All of the apostles are saints.

It would seem that you have a problem telling saints from scumbags.
