Just curious what peoples views are towards a war based on religon between muslims and christians.

Do you believe it will happen?

Who will win?

I'm basing this question on the fact there is a political and emotional rift between the two religons. Muslims purposely target christians in other countries. Bin Laden has publicly told Americans, mainly christians, to convert to Muslim if not then they will be slaughtered. I know he doesn't speak for all Muslims but he is in a position to start a fire within the Muslim world.

I'm a christian not muslim. I have nothing against any religon.

I just talked with a Christian who actually believes the miracles and stories of the Bible are actually TRUE!! He claims to actually talk to Jesus, etc...

Can you believe it!?

None of my friends (we claim to be Christians because our parents called themselves Christian) can believe it either!

I mean, come on! There's no such things as miracles, virgin births, etc. Who, in their right mind would take that stuff literally!>?

And they said that Jesus was more real to them than I was?!?

Are these people nuts? I said, "OK, Where is he? " and he said that Jesus was inside his head!!!

Why would people choose to believe literally, things that just do not make any sense whatsoever? Don't people understand delusion - and how it seems very very real??

Is it the word of God and meant to be taken litterally? (What denomination are you?)

Is it a book inspired by God but not meant to be taken litterally? (What denomination are you?)

Is it a work of fiction that should never be taken seriously?

Lots of times people ask about the differences in the Christian religions and I believe that our answers to this question will help to clarify for others what the differences are.

His Spirit is in you, you bear his fruit--kindness, gentleness, and goodness. That makes you perfectly suited for God's kingdom work.
May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—…for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

Philippians11:11
11May you abound in and be filled with the fruits of righteousness (of right standing with God and right doing) which come through Jesus Christ (the Anointed One), to the honor and praise of God [that His glory may be both manifested and recognized].

My real question is some people are racist because a particular race has done something bad to them, but if that race were white they wouldn't hate all white people, so how is that logial?

Example: White guy I knew came home early to a black guy having sexual relations with his wife....now he hates all black people, but what if the guy was white? He wouldn't hate everyone in his own race....How is this justified?

Recently, the question was posted here: "How many of you Christians really think that all atheists are going to Hell?"
More than half the respondants (who were actually Christian and who actually answered the question) essentially said no.

So my question is: If you are Christian and you agree that not all atheists are going to Hell, how do you reconcile that belief with the fact that the Bible clearly states that the only hope of salvation is through acceptance of Jesus Christ?

This is in no way intended as a slight to anyone. I'd just like to understand the thought process. Thanks.

I know this question will probably get deleted and I 'll lose 10 points because someone is not mature enough to face the truth, but I sure do get a lot of hate mail from Gay people. It seems like it is the one group of people who cannot "tolerate" any belief but their own and they call people "haters" while they themselves are spewing hatred for anyone who does not agree with them. Don't you think this is a contrast to other minorities who actually prayed for their deliverances from Injustice? And I still don't understand why gay people want to be married? If you want to be gay fine I accept it but why do you have to have marital privileges? I don't see any gay marraiges in the bible do you? I just don't get it! Can we have a reasonable discussion here and actually make your point without name calling? is it fair to have others pay your insurance in this lifestyle known to cause damage to your body? I mean should there be responsiblity for that....or not?

“We tell ourselves so many lies and half-truths ... We listen and are duly impressed by these inner voices that turn into unseen judges that nag at us. We give each of these judges a seat of honor in our minds, all the while hating their guts and their never-ending supply of judgements ... We give the judges permission to accompany us on each journey of life, never daring to realize that we can park them, at least momentarily.” -- Eloise Ristad

Althought, i am a theist but i definately think yes. Most atheists seem to be less judgemental which in my humble opinion is a sign of spiritual evolvement!

how funny is it that any christian you find blames everything that goes wrong on satan?
they blame people who try to disprove christianity as worshiping satan
they say pagans worship satan
they say anyone who doesnt believe in their religion worships satan.
you think if they didnt blame EVERY SINGLE THING on satan, that people might take the induviduals, not the religion, more seriously?
and christians, grow up, blaming everything on your satan is like a child blaming everything on his imaginary friend.

I'm an atheist, but I do believe in ghosts though I have my own ideas about what they really are. But, I want to know what you think.

Before last week I had only encountered one 'ghost' in my lifetime. Here's what happended: My gf was doing some homework and her dog was startled and started growling and barking at something near her bed. The dog raised the hair on her back and took off to hide under a cabinet in the laundry room. Incidentally, my girlfriend just happened to have a tape recorder nearby that she used to record lectures, so she inserted a fresh tape and started asking some questions like "Who are you? What is your name? Why did you just scare my dog? Why are you here?"

There was nothing but silence for a few seconds, and then very clearly, you hear a little girl's voice respond "I'm just so....lonely"

The voice is completely unmistable. It is definitely NOT my girlfriend because she has a very loud, distinct voice. There are no children in the house.

They all centre around the same basics, but what makes one more believeable than another? Think about it, they all have the same amount of "proof" (meaning zero), and the Torah and Koran have been revised/edited/changed far less often than the bible. So it seems to me that the only reason you believe the bible is because you were culturally raised with it. Can you give me specific reasons why that may not be the case, and have you read both the Koran and Torah?

In the book before Revelations, Jude talks about Dreamers who are not afraid to speak against rullers, are living in their flesh and have sneaked into the churches unnoticebly. Who is he talking about? Because I have noticed myself talking about the president in an unkind way, also being rebelious certain things in churches, and I've also been lusting and have homosexual past. Jude says that such men are predestant for condemntation, and are in the way of Cain, they are doomed for darkness. I'm so freaked out right now. Can someone explain this to me?

p.s. One thing that I canno apply to myself that Jude is talking about, is that I do value the Word of God and I don't deny Jesus as the Lord and ruller. I also don't practice homosexuality anymore, but do have temptations. However, I have been calling myself a dreamer, because I'm always thinking different from other people. And I love to dream about things. Am I condemned?

Every once in a while you hear of a priest being accused adn "guilty" of some crime or another. Is it right if they go to jail? Aren't priests God's chosen and above the law?
