Christ is a term used for any "savior" of any one... Basically it's a name given to those who come to save, or bring peace.

Christ is the English term for the Greek word Χριστός (Christós), which literally means "The Anointed One." The Hebrew word for Christ is מָשִׁיחַ (Mašíaḥ, usually transliterated Messiah).

It is the Greek translation of the Hebrew "meshiach" and means "anointed". Anointings were a physical representation of the bestowing of divine approval on kings who were responsible for defending their countries from foreign powers. In the Jewish tradition, the "Messiah" assumed a transcendent meaning, one who not only liberated his people from foreign control but made all things right and converted the nations through the perfection of Judaism. Christians combined this theme with the "God among us" motif to characterize Jesus as the true Jewish messiah, even though he didn't actually free Palestine from Roman domination.
