I am heading my department's donation to a Thanksgiving basket program at work. We have the dinner covered, but I'm wondering what types of items are really essential for struggling families. Should we include things like toiletries, paper products, etc? We don't know who the family will be, so specific items for boys or girls is no good. I'm looking for general things that no family should have to live without. I'd really like to make our basket more meaningful than just one good meal, so any suggestions are welcome. Thanks in advance!

Redeemed, vessels to honor, sanctified, salty, whom walk after the Spirit?

That's Dan "Da Vinci Code" Brown vs. Tim "Left Behind" LaHaye and Jerry B. "Buck" Jenkins. Whose wooden prose and execrable plotting is genuinely worse?

I'm not interested in their respective theologies unless it directly affects the quality of their writing.

As examples: Do you engage in "politically correct" conversation at home with your family, at work, with friends, when you don't want to be judged, have something to lose or because it may be expected of you?

As far as how they pertain to humans.....

I have always loved animals of all types. I have a cat and love him dearly for his unconditional love yet his penchant for humans having to
EARN that love! lol

I find as I get older that my furry roomies are even more important to me than when I was younger! How about you?

My Tony is having a bad day....I awakened this a.m. to him hunched as he walked and his rear was encrusted with the results of loose bowels. I cleaned him with water spray [which to my surprise he didn't resist]. This evening he has a good appetite and is drinking water and is talking to me and is not ' hiding' as animals do when they get ill...but I am worried. If he doesn't improve by tomorrow I will take him in to the doc....This little guy [20 lbs Maine Coon] is my HEART and I can't imagine a day without him!

Share your pet stories with me, please :-)

I feel the need to ask this question because with every passing day I see people who amaze me as there are some that make me feel as if the entire world is sinking down a endless black hole...
Not even the salvation of Jesus or the mercy of Allah seems to bring the touch of light to their heart...how come ?

What is spirituality ?

Why does man belive in God? The bible was written by man many centurys ago, to ensight people to what they belived.
So why was it taken so seriously? It was written so man would be able to take society into there own hands, So they could do everything as they requested and they were never too mean or too demanding. And look where it's gotten us today. And, There are two hundred Messiahs with the same exact backround in Jesus, (Look up egyptian God Horus), So, Would you seriously expect for an outcome like this?
So my real question is, Why would man belive in God if "He" Is so played out?

Love,

Bella

P.s. Sorry if some of my wording is incorrect.

i was in math and student services came on the loud speaker thing and asked for Lexi (i'm the only Lexi in our grade) and said she needs to come to the office. i was freaking out. my heart was racing and i was thinking "what did i do wrong?". so i show up and they tell me to go to our assistant principal's office. he shuts the door and i am like "is everything okay?" and he mentioned that after 3 tardies you get a detention and he said that i have had a total of 6 this year. so he fills out the detention form and says to get my mom to sign it. she is already fed up with me and i am scared to tell her. how can i tell her? thanks!

what would be a funny thing i could do just to mess with them. I am already going to wear a micheal myers mask and a jump suit when i answer the door. I am going to try and video tape it. I have nothing against them but i have a no soliciting sign on my door so they shouldnt be coming to the door anyways (and yes selling religion does count as soliciting) Does anyone have any novel, funny ideas i could do.
I just want to mess with them, so if you are going to give an answer saying its wrong or something like that dont bother anwering cause the comment will fall on deaf ears
