Just curious..

For the record I think they are all important but recently I came across a passage which made me completely re-evaluate how I ranked them.

Although the thousands of different tribes of Christendom disagree on their dogma & tenets--they all seem to agree that in heaven they will be together again with their loved ones & marriage partners in the sweet by & by.
Yet Christ---when asked by the Pharisees who a woman,who had married 7 brothers --each one after the previous one had died, would be with in heaven--Christ answered --none of them--why do all Christians believe exactly the opposite??
Matthew 22:30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.
Mark 12:25When the dead rise, they will neither marry nor be given in marriage;
they will be like the angels in heaven.
Luke 20:35But those who are considered worthy of taking part in that age and in the
resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage
It appears there's no "mine" in heaven.

would you want to be healed or just go home in peace? Me I would want to go home in peace. AS I refuse a bedside full of praying christians to heal me, I would not let them in if they were going to do that. To bad if you did and God took me anyway. A lot of chrisitans want healing when they are dying, but me nope I have made my chocie, so it is no ones business to interfear with my gloryfication.andwould you like me want to die alone wth God there or infront of people. Me alone with God so I can talk to him as I am coming home.in private

Luke 22:36-38
36 Then he said to them: “But now let the one that has a purse take it up, likewise also a food pouch; and let the one having no sword sell his outer garment and buy one. 37 For I tell YOU that this which is written must be accomplished in me, namely, ‘And he was reckoned with lawless ones.’ For that which concerns me is having an accomplishment.” 38 Then they said: “Lord, look! here are two swords.” He said to them: “It is enough.”
Which cheek were they suppose to turn by this command?

I am looking for one really great source to guide me in Catholic Apologetics. I see that the need is great and that us Catholics, are called to defend our faith and stand firmly to it. However, I am a beginner with Apologetics and so, I am looking for something that would appropriate for me right now. I don't know a whole lot about what others think about us...although, unfortunately, I am very quickly learning here on yahoo answers....but I would like to learn and even more, I would like to learn how to approach such questions that others may have...or even accusations from others.. thanks :) God Bless!

The purpose of the prophets was to "prophecise to the current king. They made predictions on when was a good time to go to war or make political decisions and general near future predictions, really no different than jesus "prophecising" the end times that would come before his apostles all passed.

They however, could have cared less what was to happen hundreds of years in the future. The prophets were there for the monarchy only, that is why once the monarchy ended so did the prophets. If there is no monarchy there is no reason the be prophecising. None of the prophecies that people attribute to jesus, have anything to do with jesus.

We have reached another age here folks Is this really ok? We are responsible for our actions, what happened to grace? decorum? kindness? So what is going on in our society that allows for such filthy disrespect for one another? Do you personally think its "fun" to make fun of other people for their beliefs? If you do, how do you reconcile this with our culture of tolerance and the all is good, everyone has their own path type thinking?

I believe as a Christian that it is important to confront arguments against Christianity because it will strengthen your faith.

One argument against it is the idea that the Christian version of Satan is made up and does not agree with the Jewish version of Satan and that it evolved over time and that Satan was NOT supposed to be a bad guy at first, but was an angel that worked WITH the Lord as a kind of prosecuting attorney. Another attack against Christianity is that Jews do not believe in the concept of Heaven and Hell like Christians do.

Here is my rebuttal:

Jews ONCE believed in the same version of Satan that Christians do, but the Bible clearly states that Jews fell away from the Truth of the gospel, so it's not suprising that they no longer believe in the same version of Satan and Heaven and Hell like we do. The archeological and scriptural evidence back this up. The Christian idea of Satan is NOT made up.

What are your thoughts?

I dont know about you but Im very angry at the amount of Spanish being forced on our kids(England) The dreadful Dora type programs being an example. Spanish is NOT a world language like French (Spanish is only widely spoken in south and central America and Spain in Europe) whereas German is by far the most spoken language in Europe. Why is this language being pushed more than the others ? it makes no sense and really pees me off.

What is your religion if you have one and why do you believe what you do? Do you respect other religions? Because so often I'm finding people don't.

Personally, I am a Christian but I respect all other religions except the ones who openly admit they worship evil (devil worshiping). That just doesn't make sense. Why do you think some people decide to worship evil?

Tell me anything you can about your religious beliefs and how you practice them. Have a good day :)
