In ancient China, one very long fingernail was a status symbol. A man who did hard manual labor would have rough hands and short nails. Long nails on all fingers (for a wealthy man) would be cumbersome, so they kept ONE fingernail (usually the mostly useless pinky) long as a sign that they were upper class. It also denoted good hygiene, as it could be used to clean out the nose and ears, which is considered a necessity, not gross, in Eastern cultures.

It has no religious significance what so ever he probably was into the goth scene which dose not have any relation with the occult or any other religion or it could be he was a musician and the grew one nail longer to use for plucking the strings to create a high pitch harmonic . The nail on my first finger of my right hand is a bit longer then the others for this reason

I once knew a guy who grew up in the 60's and he was still a hippie even in the 80's when I met him. He had a long fingernail on his little finger and he told me and some friends about a party he was going to go to and that there was going to be a bag of cocaine and that everyone stands in line and takes a turn getting as much cocaine as they can fit into that fingernail.

I don't think there is any religious significance, but on a socially sub-culture level, well, it means he likes to use cocaine. He uses the pinky nail as a scoopie.

It always bothers me when my fingernails grow out. I just have to cut them off. Actually I think long nails are sickening.

I dont know what it mean but if you was to find out please let me know because my fiance pinky nail is very long, longer than the rest and they are long also but not as long as the pinky and I have been with him for 6 years and it has been growing before I got with him

Not sure - I'm atheist and sometimes I let the nails grow on my little fingers, because they are great tools for picking nose.

i never heard anywhere like that. as we have worlds almost all religions. i`m from INDIA.
may be he is growing finger nails only on small finger and others don`t. and he has no nailcutter.
