I am Catholic and Holy Mass was being said today Friday. 3 men I do not remember how they were dressed or what they looked like collected the monies "for the church" I thought it was very strange for a Friday, because monies or donations are ONLY Collected on Saturday and Sundays. After Mass, a woman annoucned that they men were con men with actual church baskets collecting the money and took off. At least 200 people were in the church.
Were they so brazen? What kind of person would do this in broad daylight, with many witnesses and in Holy Church?

Can we legitimately, viably pray in dreams? Seeing as we're dominated by the subconscious, is any prayer in the realm of dreams a valid one?
I just dreamt a very vivid dream where I was praying very sincerely and telling God I missed Him, and if you've ever experienced the electric feeling after being baptised by the Holy Spirit or that tumbling sensation, well I kinda woke up from the intensity of that feeling that I received.

Why do fundamentalist Christians drive me freakin' nuts? I am actually Christian myself, but when I get around fundamentalists they seem to tap dance on every one of my nerves almost to the point where I am ashamed to call myself a Christian. I don't want to be judgmental but their behavior can be truly offensive to me at times. Should I just chill out and relax, or say something to these people.

I am the only black/foreigner in our class but sometimes i get irritated by the way these yellow people are asking me questions, even though some shows some signs of hatress, i don't give a del cos i got friends who likes me and treat me more than anyone in the class.

Read it to see the context. I am now picking a particular statement proposed by another tradition of knowledge, the Vedic tradition. "In the vicinity of those practicing advanced techniques of meditation, criminality diminishes, the economy is better, etc." (I paraphrased here.) The statement is that there is no need for further actions by these people, just their vicinity is enough. This couldn't come from within the modern science institution, but yet it is scientifically verifiable. We can test it. However, there is a possible dogma: No evidence can be related to another tradition of knowledge. There is also a new paradigm here: consciousness or awareness is at the basis of matter, but is it the evidence that is important or a respect of some old paradigm.

I understand that people want to know who created life and all, and mostly, it seems that Catholics have a strong edge on that, but really...does it matter THAT much to make things official? I do believe in a creator but that's it, mainly. I don't want to get such a strong thought that i want to try to convert people to it! So why all the fuss? I believe in God and Jesus and all but I;m not headstrong about knowing THE TRUTH!

I also think, personally, that the fact the someone believes in a creator, that's enough and as long as they're happy, that's all they need in life, because who knows where we came fro, anyway. If the Catholic GOD created us in his image, then he should understand our curiosity and eagerness to know, right? If he did make us, he'd know what all people go through in life; pressure, beliefs, love, all that. So, my question is, do you think that knowing if god exists is that important and that the world wants to make an official one alright to do so?

I don't think that it is myself, but I am very curious at other people's reactions.

I keep hearing people claim that Christians need to live right, stay away from porn and promiscuous sex, never, never, never contemplate abortion (you'd think that was the unforgiveable sin committed by the Pharisees), and attend enough church council meetings and you'll be good to go.

What happened to being filled with fire? What happened to Christ's command to love and serve the poor (instead of railing against welfare programs)? If we as Christians are against abortion, shouldn't we be spending some good time helping single mothers in desperate situations out?

Shouldn't we be working to bring God's Kingdom here on earth by showing grace, mercy, love, to other people, even the most supposedly sinful and downcast? Would Christ do any less?

2 students got their hands severally severed and my school is pretty truamatized. one is in critical condition and the other is in a 5 hr surgery. just please keep them in their prayers that would be great.

Im interested in Wicca and want to know more about it.....
