The Catholic church never says that Jesus gave the church to Mary.
The Angel though, who announced to Mary that she would give birth to Christ said "Hail Mary".
As a matter of fact, the entire first half of that prayer is directly quoted from the Bible. "Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and Blessed is the fruit of thy womb." is taken directly from scripture.
Please get this ... Catholics don't worship Mary. Catholics worship God ... the trinity ... Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Period. Mary is honored, and considered blessed, but not worshiped by the church. Individuals who worship Mary are guilty of Heresy. God alone is to be worshiped according to Catholic teaching.

it is in connection with pagan idols and graven photos which the Israelites could have been companies to worship on the time. For if it have been in connection with all graven photos, God does not have commanded angelic cherubim of gold be placed on the Ark of the Covenant (Exodus 25:18-19). Nor might Moses have made a bronze serpent and fixed it on a pole (Numbers 21:8-9). besides, the temple had quite a few graven photos adorning it (a million Kings 6:23-29; 7:25-40 5). that's not ALL photos that are forbidden it truly is worshiping them as God, which isn't carried out interior the Catholic church God Bless

you're delusional.... where is it that Jesus gives the church to Mary?
there are lots of things that we as christians do that aren't in the bible....
I'm not catholic, but I don't see anything wrong with it... Catholics understand and know God is the head of the of the church...
so why are you getting on them for doing something good? Stop being negative people.....

Luk 1:28 And entering, the angel said to her, Hail, one having received grace! The Lord is with you. You are blessed among women!
The term "hail" was simply a greeting, it does not imply anything more. Jesus never gave the Church to Mary, He is the head of the Church, the bride of Christ.

Now read luke 2:18! the NKJV reads,,And having come in, the angel said to her, "Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!"* Hey why don't you ask them about Lk 1:46-55 and watch them squirm for their LIE is EXPOSED! Vs 47 "And my spirit has rejoiced in God my SAVIOR.,,,Doesn't EMMACULATE mean perfect,,SINLESS as taught by them? So ask, they squirm and lie to try to cover the FIRST lie. Nope, not right. Who told you that? Let me guess...your preacher I bet.
The first, "Hail (Mary) full of grace, the Lord is with thee, blessed art thou amongst women", embodies the words used by the Angel Gabriel in saluting the Blessed Virgin (Luke, I, 28).

It is the greeting of the angel Gabriel when He announced to Mary that she was to be the Mother of the Messiah.
