my pastors talked about how you shouldnt date someone who isnt the same religion as you. My pastor said break up with him. I told my best friend, who was there that i dont want to stop dating him because i feel like i can lead him to Christ. The other thing he is a weak wiccan. like he doesnt really follow his religion at all.. hes just there. he used to be a hardcore christian growing up and then the church offended him and i dont know why so he went to wiccan, which he really doesnt follow it. he is also a marine and hes in iraq right now. when i talk to him its only once a month for 5 minutes. so to break up with him while hes in iraq is harsh and mean. which i would never do. i want to talk to him about it when he gets home. whereas my best friend wants me to do now because she says its sinning until he gets home because were "unequaly yoked."i love this man and i refuse to leave him. it bothers me a little that hes not a christian and then it doesnt. should i leave my boyfriend?

I can't stand racist white kids who learned to be hateful from their redneck parents. I also can't stand all the people who keep saying they are getting what they deserved. You honestly cannot be serious. Does anyone agree? Or does everyone belong in Jena with all the other racists?

Mine was math. I hated math (had a math block most of my life) because I couldn't do it. The most humiliating time was when the teacher called me to the blackboard to do a long division problem. I wanted to crawl in a hole and die because I knew I would not be able to solve the problem, and all my peers were watching. What was your experience with your worst subject?

You COULD assume that something is a metaphor because it makes the most sense for it to be one (to you), but no one can agree about what is and isn't a metaphor in the bible. I can't even give an example because half would cite the passage as literal, and half metaphorical. So really who can say, without putting words into God's mouth, what is and what is not a metaphor in the bible (besides the obvious ones - like Jesus's parables)?

Personally, I have always HATED this debate.

First of all, Christians nowadays have taken the Bible WAY too seriously. People think the Earth was actually created in literally SEVEN days. I'm not sure the exact number, but a day in the Bible is about a few thousand years, incase you weren't aware. Keep in mind that a big chunk of the Bible is symbolic. How could anyone believe that an actual six-headed beast is going to kill us all in the end.

Secondly, this evangelicalism (or whatever you call it) has completely portrayed the Christian face! Which is why we have so many atheists who find religion so stupid!

Why can't Christian just suck it up listen to the theories out there, and yes, I believe they can all cooperate with the Bible? Why can't atheists/agnostics wake up to the fact that religion is not stupid and it has become distorted under the work of man? Besides, most of them haven't even touched a Bible in their life.

I have met a few who are well-read, can spell, locate a country on the map and have a grasp of world history...but i am talking about a minority. The rest come across as incredibly superficial and very ignorant. Is their school system to blame? Or their government? Their media?

God actually directly chatted with Moses. God sent his angel to talk to Jesus.

NOW I know Christians will say Jesus is god, but then why did Jesus say "Why have u forsaken me?" Was he talking to himself? Was God talking to himself?

therefore ridiculous and pointless? He didn't have to save Noah when he could just make a new Adam and Eve. Ridiculous story, and based on an older Mesopotamian story as well, where the all details are the same as the later Bible story.
